This area was under construction during the time that I visited, however it was still open to visitors and for prayers. It's a very clean, well-kept area by the groundskeeper. The shine is peaceful and quiet, too on a weekday afternoon. There are multiple shrines here on the property. You can get a goshuin stamp and book at the shrine office nearby, when it is open. I look forward to visiting Dainenbutsu-ji again when the renovations are completed!
View on GooglePeaceful local Buddhist temple.
View on GoogleBig and impressive main building of the temple, nice surroundings, but as a whole - just one more typical Buddist temple.
View on GoogleDuring Golden Week there's the 「万部おねり」. It has a deep history, and the sight of the 25 bodhisattvas parading and crossing over is breathtaking. The main hall is spacious too, and inside you can see the "giant prayer beads" and the "paintings of the bodhisattvas". When the chanting of the service echoes through, a very pleasant time flows by. Anyone can visit, so please do!
View on GoogleThe temple grounds are spacious, and it was a temple with a really nice atmosphere. The head priest who wrote my goshuin was also a very nice person. He told me it's the head temple of the Yuzu Nembutsu sect, and when I mentioned I was planning to go to 法楽寺 next, he told me how to get there, saying I should take the subway. Thank you very much.
