This place is clearly not meant for tourists. But it feels very authentic. Simple set up with very friendly prices. The server lady spoke zero English but she tries. Locals come in and out quickly for quick meals. If you are looking for a hearty bowl of soba or udon, you are good here. Per bowl of soba was about ¥600.

Oyakodon (single item) comes with soup and pickles for 500 yen including tax! Oyakodon is a traditional Japanese dish consisting of chicken and egg simmered together in a savory sauce, then served over a bowl of rice. The name “Oyakodon” literally means “parent and child bowl,” referring to the use of both chicken and egg. It's a shocking price! Tempura udon is 330 yen including tax! Although it was a restaurant with a sitting style of eating, it was offered at a more reasonable price than a restaurant where you can eat while standing. The clear Kansai-style soup was delicious with kelp dashi. There are so many menus, but the food is served quickly, which is convenient when you don't have much time. Since it is listed as being founded in Showa 48, it is a long-established store that has been in business for half a century. I hope this store will continue to operate for many years to come.

Inexpensive, fast service. Cold noodles served through a year

Great price, but awful noodles. The zara udon even had a raw egg yolk in the dashi.

Deliciuos and cheap place to eat. One of my favorite.
