On my way back from a bad-luck-warding blessing at Abiko Kannon~ ordered the recommended A lunch~ served in about 10 minutes! The sweet and sour pork had little sauce and was lukewarm❌ The shrimp tempura was lukewarm and tough, and the rolled omelet was lukewarm and tough too❌ Of course the soup was lukewarm too❌! What the heck! Chinese food has to be piping hot, that's the rule! It's probably a tactic to turn over the lunch crowd, but I wish they'd cook from the customer's point of view! It was 1000 yen so I can't really complain lol
View on GoogleAbove all, having lunch while looking at the saltwater aquarium right in front of you is the best. The lunch menu in particular is a great price. Their homemade crunchy chili oil is delicious drizzled on fried rice!
View on GoogleA friend who's lived in Abiko for a long time told me it's a popular place. Piping-hot dishes come out fast! This is what a neighborhood Chinese diner is all about (^^)
View on GoogleYour typical neighborhood Chinese diner Chose the ramen and half fried rice from the service lunch Arrived in about 5 minutes Next time I'll try ordering other dishes too
View on GoogleI went in with the image of the goofy-looking guy in the menu photos on Maps, but after eating, nah, it's just a regular Chinese place. I didn't actually see the guy in the kitchen, though. I arrived before opening so I waited a bit, then sat at a table near the entrance. Welcomed with an oshibori, which is rare these days. I ordered the small shrimp ankake rice bowl and gomoku ramen. It's a bowl with lots of small shrimp tempura and lots of ankake sauce. The shame is that the small shrimp tempura they went to the trouble of making gets buried in the sauce. Wouldn't it be better to just fry them and put them on top of the sauce? The gomoku ramen noodles were tasty, but I'd like them a bit firmer. Same chicken-bone soup flavor, similar combination, I'll be more careful next time lol. With rising prices lately, it's gotten more expensive than the old menu, but I guess it can't be helped.
