[February 5, 2026] A Chinese izakaya focusing on gyoza and fried chicken, located about a 2-minute walk from Keihan Kōrien Station. I frequently pass the street in front of the shop, but considering the crowd vibe, it looked hard to enter and I had neglected it for years, but on a weekday evening, I figured I'd drop by just once and entered. Ordering a medium draft beer for 500 yen and 2 orders of gyoza (6 pieces x 2) came to a reasonable 1100 yen total. Being a shop that boasts gyoza, the ingredients, cooking method, and overall quality are quite good. Ginger and chives come through well, making the gyoza level high. A noisy group of elderly regulars who've probably been drinking since early afternoon run the indoor environment. Then noisy regulars enter one after another, replacing each other. The staff are similar, making the atmosphere extremely uncomfortable. It's been a while since I've been to such an uncomfortable shop. The barrier to entry for new customers is high, and while the gyoza is good, I will never visit again. I've frequently seen scenes of customers eating and drinking with chairs put out on the street (not sure if provided by the shop or brought by customers), which makes me question whether they even have permission for street-front operations.

View on GoogleA shop I dropped in during my Kōrien exploration... I say that, but I've walked past the shop itself many times, yet looking for reviews, Tabelog and Google had almost none, making it a pretty hesitant shop to enter ✨ However, local restaurant folks and residents had long been telling me that the gyoza here is truly delicious, so when I happened to walk by and there were few people inside, I went in ☺️✨ Looking around the interior, there were several photos of "Daikō", a Chinese restaurant a little walk away from Kōrien, and it seems the owner originates from there ✨ Their specialties and recommendations are gyoza and fried chicken ☺️✨ *For reference ✨ ●Tabelog Rating● Unrated (1 review) *As of 2024/10/18 Ordered Menu ●Gyoza (6 pieces): 300 yen ●Plain Chuhai: 350 yen I was asked for my drink order first and made my request, but the person who took the order probably looked like a regular customer wwww I totally thought they were a staff member w
