I went with high expectations because whenever you search for ramen in Kourien, this place always comes up at the top. Inside, it's counter seating only. When I sat in the back seat, it smelled a little... the grease trap odor was terrible and gave me a slight stomach ache... Still, I ordered the tsukemen I wanted to eat. While waiting, the staff member was smoking in the back, and the smell drifted all the way to where I was 😓 After a short wait, the tsukemen arrived. The soup was piping hot, with noodles of just the right thickness and firmness that clung well to the soup, and it was delicious. However, the smell of the grease trap was intense until the very end. So, please forgive my ⭐️2 rating.

Entered alone for the first time for a weekday lunch. Tsukemen seems to be the recommendation, so I ordered the regular tsukemen. The noodles were chewy, and the dipping broth was rich, full of seafood umami, and delicious. Up until now at other shops, I used to finish my tsukemen by diluting the dipping broth with "warisupu" (diluting broth), but I tried finishing it with "warigohan" (remaining rice) for the first time, and the rice grains packed with umami were incredibly delicious, making me feel happy. It says "rice portion 150 yen" in small letters on the menu, but I think they could recommend it more prominently. The staff were also kind, polite, and very wonderful. Thank you for the meal.

A popular tsukemen restaurant among locals, featuring chewy homemade noodles and a rich dipping broth. A key highlight is the refreshing flavor change you can enjoy with lemon. Close to the station with great accessibility. [Food & Taste] The dipping broth is a rich combination of animal-based (chicken and pork) and seafood broths, clinging well to the noodles. The homemade extra-thick noodles are chewy, allowing the sweetness of the wheat to come through, and you can also enjoy changing the flavor with lemon. The seasoned egg and green onion toppings serve as accents, making it a well-balanced bowl overall. [Access] Located within walking distance from Kourien Station, with extremely good accessibility. A convenient location to drop by even while commuting by train. [Store Atmosphere] A small establishment with only 9 counter seats, creating a cozy atmosphere. The owner runs it alone, leaving an impression of efficient and friendly service. A comfortable space with air conditioning well-suited, along with thoughtful touches like electric fans. [Service] The owner's polite customer service and thoughtful perks, such as complimentary broth refills and reheating, are charming. Kind responses are well-received even amidst busy times. However, there is no draft beer; only bottled beer is available. [Price & Value] Priced appropriately, offering good value considering the generous portion of noodles and robust dipping broth. However, some mention that it's a slight pity there is no chashu pork included.

I visited for a slightly late weekday lunch. It's a counter-seating-only restaurant where the inside isn't very visible from the outside, giving it a somewhat hard-to-enter atmosphere. I had been curious about the tsukemen for a while, but stayed away because it looked a bit intimidating to enter. This time I mustered up the courage to visit and had the 'Tsukemen (Large)'. When I hesitated about what to choose while ordering, the owner cheerfully told me various things and even gave me a little extra service. Since it's tsukemen, there was a slight wait, but no different from the waiting time at a typical tsukemen shop. The tsukemen that came out featured homemade noodles that were super chewy, and the dipping broth was so piping hot I couldn't hold the bowl. Personally, I like noodles that are firmly chilled and have a solid bite, but these noodles were on the softer, chewier side. (I think this is a matter of personal preference.) The soup was a slightly thick soup packed with umami. Next time I'd like to try the ramen.
