A noodle shop located about a 2-minute walk from Kourien Station. It features a standing counter and cozy 2-person table seating. The style is to order from the old lady inside the shop and pay when the food is ready. Cash only. Today I went with the katsudon (640 yen). They let you include a small bowl of udon soup broth. It has the rustic flavor of a town Japanese-style diner. The portion of rice is not extra-large, so it was just the right amount. Water is self-service. When finished, the style is to return your tableware to the counter.

Breakfast Udon ❣️ There are various options for breakfast such as McDonald's, gyudon chains, family restaurants, and cafes, but in Osaka, you suddenly want to eat 'Breakfast Udon'. Entered at 7:30, a little after opening. I was the only customer, and it was a one-person operation by an old lady. Ordered 'Kake Udon (400 yen)' from the old lady, and when I started chatting with her saying, 'Prices have gone up quite a bit compared to the old days,' the old lady replied, 'That's right. I think it was barely under 200 yen at first.' While having that conversation, the bowl arrived. First, sip the soup. There are no soup spoons here; you sip the soup directly from the bowl. This is great too. Furthermore, the old lady said 'It's on the house' and placed a small 'kakiage' (tempura fritter) on top of my udon. When I said 'Thank you!!', the old lady replied 'It's not always there, you know.' I love Osaka udon shops where you can have these kinds of exchanges ❤️ Thank you for the meal.

A shop I want to visit when I'm tired The katsudon is delicious I also often eat kakiage soba. I like the taste of the broth The quality of toppings is well... commensurate with the price The kitsune fried tofu seems to use inari-sushi tofu, so it was quite sweet The staff's smiles are always lovely and customer service is good

2020.10.19 First visit. A general standing-style soba and udon shop. They open from early in the morning, which is extremely appreciated. Will drop by again.

When I ordered the 'Donburi Set' previously when a female staff member in her 60s? was working, she added the price difference between the set's udon/soba types onto the set price, but this time the female staff member in her 40s? charged it separately rather than as a set, so I felt somewhat unsatisfied. By the way, it was 970 yen for a mini kakiage donburi and curry soba (without chopped green onions). Since it should have been 870 yen last time, it's kind of annoying 😒💢💢
