Visited the relocated shop for the first time! My family living locally seems to go eat there quite often, and even though it was a same-day reservation, we were seated smoothly! Since I love teppanyaki, I also ordered lots of a la carte dishes! The alcohol just kept flowing! The monjayaki containing noodles is chewy and delicious ♪ I had 3 helpings of monjayaki lol. The specialty Soba-oko was also delicious ♪ The seseri (chicken neck) teppanyaki was also top-notch ☆ We visited as a group of 5, and we polished off the yakisoba in no time! I'd love to visit again when I return to my hometown (^o^)
View on GoogleDelicious. Monja, okonomiyaki, and yakisoba are all super delicious. The scorched crust of the monja is also delicious. The timing of food service is way too perfect. Observing customers' actions with great sense. The master is really attentive. I wasn't drinking alcohol because I was driving, but if I had been drinking beer, I would have swooned. Thank you for the meal. Cash only.
View on GoogleA teppanyaki restaurant focusing mainly on monjayaki, located about a 2-minute walk from Keihan Korien Station, deep on the 1st floor of the building with Kyoto Ohsho. It has a hideout atmosphere and is run solo by the owner. It was my first time having monja in my life, but after eating it, I liked it so much that there's no doubt it will be my first choice for wheat flour dishes & teppanyaki in my local Korien from now on. My wife and I ordered seafood monja, sujikon okonomiyaki, soba-oko, 2 medium draft beers, and a soft drink, but the bill was around 4000 yen. It's not flashy, but all the flour dishes are delicious. Cheap and delicious is unbeatable. The menu is also extensive, so next time I'd like to try offal items and rice dishes.
View on GoogleFirst visit looking for an independent shop rather than a chain store. The staff was friendly even when making reservations by phone. It's a cozy shop with 3 groups of preceding customers of various age groups. Mentai cheese monja: Light and soft seasoning, the scorched crust was brought to us later. Since I had never eaten it before, it was crispy and delicious. Mix okonomiyaki: the batter had sweetness, baked up fluffy, and the sauce was fruity with a solid balance of sweetness and spiciness. Special yakisoba: my husband likes thin-noodle yakisoba, so he was delighted. Managed solo by the owner, but dishes were served without having to wait too long. When I said it was delicious, they looked happy with a smile. Left the shop saying I'll come back to eat again.
View on GoogleA monjayaki shop visited during explorations of Korien ☺️✨ Since Kansai has a lot of okonomiyaki culture, there are no shops or opportunities to eat monjayaki, but when I searched after falling in love with the charm of monjayaki that I ate the other day, this shop popped up ☺️✨ It takes about 4 minutes walking straight down Korien's Daiei Shopping Street, but since it's located further in, it might be hard to find ✨ It says monjayaki, but of course they also have okonomiyaki, Hiroshima-yaki, and yakisoba ☺️✨✨ ※ For reference ✨ ● Tabelog Rating ● 3.00 (1 review count) ※ As of 2024/10/21 Ordered Menu ■ Monjayaki (Mochi Cheese Corn): 1,000 yen Sat at the counter for an evening drink while watching the cooking process ✨ Before long, it was brought to the teppan right in front of us ✨ Waited until the cheese melted gooey and ate with a small spatula; the dashi flavor of the batter, the mellowness of the cheese, the texture of the corn, and the mochi are a best match 🥹✨✨ And the 'monjayaki's scorched crust' brought out afterwards ✨ This is completely an accompaniment to drinks, with a texture like a crispy thin-baked cracker, and it's super delicious. Mixing this into the monjayaki adds a crispy texture which is the ultimate ✨ Discovered a rare shop in Korien where you can eat monjayaki ✨
