Located about a 3-minute walk from Kourien Station, inside 'Konan Yokocho,' Kourien's premier DEEP drinking alley, this is a long-standing sushi shop celebrating its 39th year this year. Run by an elderly couple, the customer base is almost entirely regulars, giving it an atmosphere that is slightly intimidating for first-timers. However, with the chatty master, even first-timers can drink enjoyably. Dropping by here for the first time in over 10 years, my wife and I stopped by on a holiday evening and ordered the master's omakase course, hot pot, various a la carte snacks, and a little alcohol. Everything is quite delicious, but it left a lingering regret that considering we ordered an omakase course at a sushi shop, there was little sushi. The bill came to 11,500 yen including ordering the takeout Daian maki roll. Reasonable enough
View on GoogleWhen I lived in Kourien, I used to drop by quite often at late hours. At late hours, it felt less like a sushi shop and more like a place to drink happily together with the regulars! Talked about all sorts of things with the master who has a wonderful smile. I also love the banter between the master and his wife. Since I've moved away now, I haven't been able to go for a while, but having the chance to drop by the neighborhood, I posted this while reminiscing. Lol Unlike back then, I now have a wife and a child, so I want to go show them to the master~~!!
View on GoogleWent for a birthday. They had made a BIRTHDAY sushi cake!! However, sea urchin, which was what I wanted most, was missing (T_T). Feeling a lot of lingering regret and no sense of satisfaction. Right now sushi shops don't have sea urchin. Other than that, the master's personality and the sushi are top-notch!!
View on GoogleAn izakaya rather than a sushi shop. Alcohol-loving customers gather to chat and bustle. Of course, the sushi and food are delicious. This is a sushi shop also featured in Amakara Techo.
View on GoogleMy parents took me here before. I think it was a shop for Edomae sushi, alcohol, and corresponding dishes. The prices are a bit high, but everything was delicious. It was a nice shop.
