These bowls are HUGE. I got the 天ぷらそば, low-key the 天ぷらwas not tasting right for me but the broth made up for it. I would have just been satisfied with the broth and the soba noodles.
View on GoogleTaste good. It was not too expensive Soba noodle.
View on GoogleFor more than 40 years since its founding, this is a long-standing neighborhood soba shop long loved by locals, sticking to homemade soba stone-milled daily, where rice is free at lunchtime. 🗣️ Concrete and Objective Experience Content • Soba aroma lets you experience natural fragrance because they grind stones roughly every day to make handmade buckwheat flour. • Set meal service provides rice for the same price as soba from 11 am to 14 pm, useful when you want to eat your fill. • Topping configuration is loaded with green onions, bonito flakes, and nori, letting you physically feel the strong accent of condiments. • Checkout mechanism varies by time slot, with the set meal extra charge changing from 150 yen to 250 yen depending on the visiting time. • Parking guidance helps when visiting by car as there is a system covering 100 yen of affiliated coin parking fees. ✅ Pros (Good Points) and ❌ Cons (Bad Points) ✅ Pros (Good Points) • The charm is that you can taste the shop's unique flavorful soba using freshly stone-milled buckwheat flour due to their commitment to homemade flour. • Lunch cost performance is good, so at lunchtime rice comes free as a "soba side dish", giving a great sense of value. • Since it operates almost year-round with only one regular holiday per month (2nd Tuesday), it's easy to drop by even when you suddenly want to eat soba. ❌ Cons (Bad Points) • Pricing is a bit high, such as the duck nanban soba a la carte at 1380 yen, which might feel expensive compared to general neighborhood soba shops. • Parking fee subsidy is small since nearby parking subsidies are only 100 yen, so staying long increases out-of-pocket expenses. • Frequent changes in business hours, such as closing at 5 PM on weekdays, requiring you to check notices or it might be closed. 📜 Shop History • Continuing for over 40 years, the owner keeps milling stones every day without getting tired, preserving a taste long loved in Moriguchi. • Community-rooted attitude, continuing to make a shop where customers can come at any time by reducing closing days to once a month in 2009. 🥇 Popular Products • Duck nanban soba: Priced at 1380 yen, a popular menu item where the shop's proud dashi and duck umami harmonize for a luxurious feel. • Handmade nishin soba: Offered at 1380 yen, a traditional dish where slowly simmered herring and soba match perfectly. • Hot yamakake soba: Comes with a raw egg priced at 1180 yen, letting you enjoy a milder taste change as tororo and egg intertwine. 🏘️ Location Atmosphere and Facilities • The atmosphere is a nostalgic and relaxing "Showa Soba Shop" marked by an orange noren and a big red sign. • Location is along a road in Moriguchi City, blending into the local living road with pharmacies and bookstores nearby. • As facilities, aged wooden tables line the interior, with warm facilities like messages from the owner attached to chopstick bags. • Regarding convenience, affiliated coin parking lots are scattered around, allowing smooth visits by car if you know the location. The lunchtime "free rice" is a nice service when you want to eat a lot. Given the commitment to freshly stone-milled soba, the slightly aggressive pricing is understandable, but a rating of 3 was my honest impression.
View on GoogleFirst visit after being told by a local. I was blown away by the size of the free large-portion bowl. It was seriously way too big. It's rare to find such a perfect score in both taste and volume. There were quite a few types of soba so I'd like to try various other ones.
View on GoogleUsed for lunch at Yamasho Soba in Moriguchi. The soba had good flavor and firm texture, and the compatibility with the broth was outstanding. Most impressive was the staff's service, whose bright and polite response felt very pleasant, spending a comfortable time from entering to leaving the shop. Food delivery was smooth, and attention to detail was wonderful. It's a shop that makes you want to come back not just for delicious soba, but also for good service.
