Found a curry shop on the map when looking for lunch around Moriguchi Station. It looked like a lovely old folk house, so I went just past noon on the weekend! Located very close to Raikouji-zaka in the historic Moriguchijuku area. Passing through the Asian noren curtain, you take off your shoes to step into the tatami-matted interior with tables and low dining tables. The old folk house interior with a view of the garden retains its old atmosphere completely, and both the chabudai low table and the cathode-ray tube television are retro and cute. Raikou Curry, named in honor of the place name, is a waterless, body-friendly chicken curry. I chose the chapati set. The piping-hot, aromatic curry was easy to eat, and the chicken was so tender the bones slipped right out~ The chapati is also fragrant. The spices are super delicious! It's super spicy and delicious, but quite hot so be careful not to put in too much. There were also kids' and baby menus. It seems you can also take home curry sauce and spices. I definitely want to buy spices to take home next time I go!

Since I received gift certificates given for free from Moriguchi City, I thought I'd go somewhere I don't usually get to go, and visited this curry shop. Rather than an old folk house café, it's an old folk house curry shop. The atmosphere of the shop is good, of course, but the owner and the woman presumed to be his wife also had a gentle vibe, making it a comfortable space. The curry isn't that spicy, but there is heat-adjusting powder on the table, so if you like spicy food, please use that. By the way, it gets quite spicy. The chicken was also cooked soft and it was very delicious. The accompanying black honey kinako cream cheese chapati felt more like a dessert rather than something to eat with curry. This was also very delicious. Thanks to the Moriguchi gift certificates, I'm glad I found a good restaurant. I'd like to go again.

A hideaway-like curry shop using a Kyoto townhouse-style old folk house in an alley near the Legal Affairs Bureau in Moriguchi City, Osaka Prefecture. Located in an alley just wide enough for one car to pass, it's a place you would never find just passing by. There are various menu items, but the core curry is only 1 kind: "Raikou Curry". What I had this time was that Raikou Curry (large serving of rice & roux) with the daily salad set, and salted kelp cheese chapati. It contains 3 chunks of fall-apart chicken that easily shreds and cleanly removes just the bone (regular has 2). An original chicken curry that is neither Japanese, Western, Indian, nor Nepalese and is also delicious (^-^) Took home 2 servings of curry sauce for the kids. The salad also has plenty of ingredients, and the dressing is apparently made every time it's ordered. Since it's a daily special, they probably make it each time so that not only the salad ingredients but also the dressing matches ♪ And the chapati. Something baked by placing salted kelp and cheese on a very thin naan-like dough. A light item you can eat like a snack (^-^) Unfortunately, chapati gets hard when it cools, so there is no takeout for chapati. From the entrance, the Taisho Kyoto townhouse-style old folk house has a nostalgic and calming atmosphere, and the steep stairs and chabudai low table are also insanely nostalgic (^-^) There is no parking lot here. Coin parking lots are scattered in slightly distant locations, so please use those. #MoriguchiCityOsaka #MoriguchiCityCurry #RaikouCurry #DeliciousCurry #ChickenCurry #Chapati #KyotoTownhouse #OldFolkHouse #HideawayShop

Sunday 2024/10 at 11:45, there were 2 other groups besides me. There are several unusual shops in this vicinity remodeled from private houses. This place is a remodeled old private house. Is the name "Raikou" from the Buddha? It might also be because this is Raikou-cho. And curry from that? Ordered the noodle-in-curry and daily salad set. A moderately tangy spice curry with complex aromas. I boosted it with the table's spicy spice to a heat level that made me sweat a little. The aroma of cardamom was also boosted. Two fall-apart bone-in chicken pieces. The noodles felt like "Houtou". The price of the curry alone is cheap. Quiet and good atmosphere.

PayPay accepted. Visited around 13:00 on a holiday. There were about 3 groups inside, and I waited about 5 to 10 minutes until entering. The food was served even faster than that. The curry is delicious, but the portion is smaller than expected. Sprinkling the spices on the side of the table enhanced the deliciousness even more. The photo shows the chapati set with a large serving of rice. Those who order a large serving of rice should probably make the curry a large serving too. The atmosphere felt like a private home. I'm grateful that some seats have a blanket sandwiched in them like a kotatsu. I'll visit again if I have the opportunity.
