Lovely & cheap vegan Japanese traditional food made by a lovely couple! I've tried a few places that serve vegan set meals of simple, homey Japanese food. Unfortunately I found those meals a bit flavorless as someone who tries to use less salt but still needs the food to have salt in it to actually enjoy it. Also they did not have rich flavors, but rather simple shallow ones - mostly of tofu, soy, and vegetables. The food here though was a lot more flavorful and diverse! Loved the fried balls made from dried soy protein which I'm familiar with from back home, but they made it with a unique coating and tasty sauce. The rice as usual is salt free and the soup and potato salad were about the same as in other similar places, but everything else like the fried balls, the little fried vegetable patty, the little croque were great. The couple that runs the place are lovely. The music played was jazz on the more experimental side, not the most pleasant but it didn't bother me that much so just FYI in case you're very sensitive. The prices are of the cheapest I've seen for this kind of food - my lunch set meal cost only 1090 yen! And it was very filling. Thought the little tofu in a jar was pudding but apparently it's salty silken tofu. The menu mentioned ice cream, pastries and granola but they only had granola. If you're going to Minoh falls this is the perfect place for lunch on the way there!

I can only recommend to stop here if you’re planning to visit Minoh. Very lucky to find authentic vegan food in that area. Only one meal set for the day but we trusted them and were not disappointed. For this quality it feels underpriced. Please go support this small business if you’re around.

They recently raised the prices for the obvious cause of inflation. Still well worth it. The shop is run by a lovely middle-aged couple. The set is very satiating except that it's not salty enough for my taste buds, which ultimately is a good thing I suppose. Silken tofu topped with soy sauce and crushed sesame, 1 mushroom gyoza, 2 pieces of gummy tofu sausage-like cubes (揚げ出し豆腐?), a fried tofu burger patty, a piece of fried mashed potatoes(コロッケ), a couple of crisp crunchy seasoned salads, sautéed Goya with other veggies, miso soup loaded with daikon, tofu bits and carrots, and your choice of brown or white rice topped with jammed umeboshi. Random 80s western music plays in the background haha

Visited on the international vegan day, lunch set menu is just app USD 8.5 which is super reasonably priced in country where vegetables are not as cheap as other advanced nations. Many vegan culinary establishments (especially urban one) tend to offer small portion of dishes which are definitely not enough for gentlemen, however, Yuimaru offers generously decent portions of delicious meals then I was quite full with it. They do decent quality of organic coffee too. Superb! I definitely recommend this restaurant for these vegan people but also to people with high health concerns. Thank you very much.
