ラー麺ずんどう屋 was born on April 4, 2002 in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture. It's known for its rich soup made from a slowly simmered tonkotsu broth with added back fat. We're also particular about our house-made noodles, carefully crafted using high-quality wheat.

The tonkotsu ramen here is really good. For the ones that like spicy food you can even choose how spicy it's gonna be ! A must try if you want to eat a good ramen in my opinion 🙂

Saw online that 元味らーめん was half price for their anniversary festival! So I came to ずんどう屋 for the first time. They were supposed to open at 10:30, but they must have opened early. When I arrived around 10:20, it felt like customers were already in the first round inside. Got seated in about 10 minutes. After that, lots of families kept pouring in, and people were spilling outside. The two male part-timers working the floor had low energy, but the staff member? in the kitchen was lively and left a good impression. Today → 元味らーめん half price at 430 yen This is the best value. But I wanted to eat vegetables... So I ordered vegetable ramen 630 yen + kaedama 150 yen Hmm, the soup was way too salty. Maybe because it had just opened, the soup hadn't settled yet? Their website says the soup is made at a factory so it doesn't vary from store to store, but if every store is this salty, that makes it even more questionable. Don't they check the saltiness at each store... You don't order on a tablet; you raise your hand and tell the staff directly. Takana is free too. Besides cash, you can pay with QR code or credit card. There's what looks like a bicycle parking area. There's a parking lot. The place is lively, which is nice, but thinking about my health, I don't feel like going out of my way to come here.

I regularly come here for daytime drinking🍺. I'm not a fan of pure tonkotsu, but ずんどう屋's tonkotsu always tastes great to me😋 I dump in loads of the free grated garlic. Garlic breath? Don't care lol Depending on my mood that day, I'll load up on green onion toppings or go for chashu-men. Being able to eat takana for free is much appreciated too.

Since it's a chain, the ramen tastes consistent, but I was shocked at how pathetic the karaage and small fried rice set (+540 yen) was. Rock-hard karaage and fried rice you can finish in 2 bites for 540 yen was so disappointing it put me off.
