Town Chinese Restaurant No. 257" A Chinese restaurant quietly tucked away in a residential area of Eganosho. Well, if you're coming from far away, you wouldn't find it without a map. Went just before lunchtime on a weekday, and the noren curtain wasn't hung up, giving off a "Uh oh, are they closed?" vibe. Listening closely, I could hear the sound of a wok being tossed... Looked closer and saw the 'Open' sign. A local joint that doesn't bother with noren curtains. A delivery motorbike was parked outside, so it seems they do deliveries too. Inside, it looked like it's run by a married couple. There's a 'Ryuka' in Ikuno that I've been to, but I'm not sure if it's a sister branch or an offshoot. Edit / It was a sister branch. Ordered the 'Mapo Tofu Set'. It was served in a tiered bento box. The taste was so-so, pretty average, I guess? The menu has a lot of options, making it look like a go-to diner for locals. The atmosphere isn't bad.
View on GoogleA long-established neighborhood Chinese restaurant loved by locals! This time, I ordered the lunch C set available only from 11:00 to 14:00 ✨ The main dish is a style where you can choose between a Medium Donburi or Tenshindon. The Tenshindon I chose features plenty of thick, fluffy-cooked egg. The slightly rich and savory seasoning stimulates the appetite. The half-ramen has a light chicken-bone shoyu base. With simple toppings of chashu, green onions, bean sprouts, and bamboo shoots, it's a classic bowl with a somewhat nostalgic feel ✨ The fried chicken is crispy and juicy, and the umami spreads throughout. It was a wonderful restaurant that makes you want to visit again!
View on GoogleThis is a great place for everyday use. In a good way, it's the quintessential "Machichuuka" (neighborhood Chinese restaurant). They have lunch sets during the day where you can eat at a great value. I recommend the Tenshindon and half-ramen set (comes with 2 pieces of fried chicken). My wife seems to recommend the gomoku soba and half-fried rice set (lol). The seasonal fried oyster set meal is cheap and delicious. Five large fried oysters. Enjoyed with homemade tartar sauce and lemon. Hot oyster juices bring happiness inside your mouth. Delicious. The side dish of rolled omelet? Also surprisingly tasty (lol). The wonton ramen was also good. Meat wrapped in smooth wonton wrappers. Wontons are written with characters that mean "swallowing clouds," so this texture is just right. Eating cheap, delicious Chinese food heartily and without pretension. It makes you smile involuntarily. The staff are also smiling and friendly. Since the interior is a bit dark, you might initially wonder if they're even open (lol). There are two parking spaces a little further away, but when I checked with the staff, they said there's space for two cars right next to the shop, so it's okay to park there. A restaurant you'll want to keep visiting over and over 😋
View on GoogleI visited Ryuka, a Chinese restaurant in Hitsuyacho, Matsubara City. What I ordered on this day was the C Set (¥950) featuring Tenshindon, a small ramen, and 2 pieces of fried chicken. The Tenshindon is loaded with thick sauce and has a slightly strong, delicious flavor. The ramen is a shoyu ramen with a chicken-bone broth, and the toppings are the classic loin chashu, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, and green onions. The noodles are medium-thick with a slight wave. Overall, the other dishes are also strongly seasoned, but not in an unpleasant way. It's a neighborhood Chinese restaurant with a great selection of both lunch and a la carte menus. The interior has a calm atmosphere with all table seating. There is no parking lot, but if you come by car, you can park about 2 cars in front of the store. It's probably a hidden, authentic local Chinese spot known only to residents and people in the area!
View on GoogleI had the fried rice combo plate (fried rice + sweet and sour pork) and gyoza. The plate also came with soup and cost 860 yen including tax. The gyoza was 270 yen including tax. The fried rice is super delicious. The sweet and sour pork also comes with chunks of large pork meat, making it very satisfying. The gyoza is a bit small but tasty. I was able to get full. I went right after opening on Sunday, and about 3 customers came in right away. It feels like a popular local Chinese restaurant. The customer service was polite and good. All seats in the restaurant are non-smoking. BGM in the store is FM802. Payment is cash only.
