Yakiniku restaurant

★ 3.914 reviews

A restaurant in front of Nankai Kishiwada Station where you can enjoy both yakiniku and sushi! For yakiniku, we offer mainly wagyu as well as a full range of horumon (offal). For sushi, we serve ingredients carefully selected by our master♪

The best sushi and barbecue I had. Super friendly old school atmosphere. Just before the railway station.

Great location, right across from Nankai Kishiwada Station, about ten-some minutes from Kansai Airport, 420 yen. I originally came for Kishiwada Castle, and was pleasantly surprised by how good the tourist services are. At the tourism exchange center across from the castle I had some delicious local snacks; inside the castle there's an introduction to the legend of Tako Jizo, and from the main keep you can gaze out over the mountains and sea. The surrounding restaurants and alleys are charming, so before flying home you can stroll around here for two hours. The food and travel map has suggested routes for walking, cycling, and driving, which is how I found this sushi and yakiniku restaurant, Torin. The wagyu is reasonably priced, ranging from 1400 yen, 1200, 1100, to 900 yen depending on which cut you like, so tender and delicious. Two adults and one child can eat their fill for a little over five thousand yen, and there's sushi to balance out the wagyu, since it's really rich and fatty after all. Another surprise was that the place is clean and comfortable, and there's a lovely girl who's fluent in Chinese; she studied in Taiwan, and her accent is really authentic.

There's not much info on social media and such, so it took a bit of courage to go the first time. The staff's service was very good too. You can enjoy both sushi and yakiniku. So there are a crazy number of menu items! Even just for lunch, I really agonized over whether to go mainly yakiniku, mainly sushi, or have both. In the end I ordered something that let me enjoy both. I got to have the super luxurious experience of eating sushi while grilling yakiniku, right from lunchtime.

★The owner, who used to run a sushi restaurant, also loves yakiniku, and opened a "Yakiniku・Sushi" restaurant on 11/11★ The owner opened a yakiniku and sushi restaurant in a former yakiniku space, and today the part-timer happened to be suddenly off, so the owner was working hard running everything alone. The only customers were 2 solo diners. Since it was a one-person operation, it took a bit of time from ordering to the food coming out, but after finishing the sushi, the tempura, akadashi, and so on didn't all come out at once, so it was like a course meal. The yuzu sherbet was delicious.
