After finishing some errands, I came to Kofuji Shokudo near Kishiwada Castle for lunch. Service lunch for 830 yen and a bottled beer for 600 yen. First, the bottled beer. It soaks in... The service lunch is toriten bowl (tempura chicken rice bowl) and champon noodles. It has volume. Thick noodles in a mild, starchy soup. Piping hot and delicious. The beer goes down well with the toriten as a snack. Finally, wrap it up with the rice bowl and soup. I'm full and satisfied. Service is fast, and the employees' customer service is good. The delivery motorcycle is also cool.
View on GoogleKofuji Shokudo, which we always rely on for kori-kurumi (walnut shaved ice) on the day of the Danjiri Festival. This is my first time visiting for a meal ^^; The tempura zaru udon/soba (1.5x noodles) for ¥1,400 was delicious.
View on GoogleSpeaking of eateries in Kishiwada, it's this place. Quite famous. I went to try their lunch. Prices have probably gone up by now, but Tento-jidon (tempura & egg rice bowl) & Chinese noodles or yakisoba for 700 yen! Even as a service lunch, it was a surprising price. A perfect restaurant for those who want something cheap above all else.
View on GoogleAn old-school eatery near Kishiwada Castle along the Kishu Kaido road, dearly loved by locals, and extremely popular for its kakigori (shaved ice) . . This time . We had the Kori Deluxe (1,150 yen) . . Matcha syrup with an irresistible bitterness & sweet Ogura red bean paste . Chewy shiratama (rice flour dumplings) . mellow sweet walnut (soybean paste) ↓ Here, the "kurumi" is called such because it wraps (kurumu) mochi in paste . It is a deluxe and extravagant shaved ice just as the name suggests, where you can taste all these flavors
View on GoogleI've come to Kofuji Shokudo in Kishiwada. They have a massive menu ranging from set meals, udon, soba, okonomiyaki, to desserts. This time I had the mini yakiniku donburi and Chinese noodles. The dashi broth of the Chinese noodles looks light, but it has a solid flavor and is delicious. The yakiniku donburi is also grilled with a well-balanced sauce that isn't too strong, making the rice go down easy. During the summer months, walnut shaved ice with shiratama is said to be popular.
