Around 2 PM when the store temporarily closes as lunchtime ends, I asked at a nearby bakery, "Are there any delicious lunches available to eat around here?" and they told me. When I went, it turned out to be a shop I had visited a few years ago. Although recommended, I certainly remember it being delicious when I ate there before. Since lunchtime operation was until 14:30, it was truly down to the wire, but they welcomed us in gladly. I ordered the Katsurai Zen meal. I'm not good with cream croquettes, but remembering it was a delicious shop, I wanted to try something other than tonkatsu. As expected, I'm not good with cream croquettes, but both the fried shrimp and hire cutlet were delicious. Entering as 3 people, all 3 of us were thoroughly satisfied.

Katsurai" located right near the Kishiwada City Hospital. Cars were always parked in the parking lot, and I was curious what kind of shop it was. Visited just before 12 o'clock, the parking lot is beside the shop and was almost full. Opening the shop door, only counter seats were empty, and we were able to enter without waiting. "Katsurai" also has a shop in Kyoto. Inside the shop, Kyoto-like maiko fans and other items are displayed, making it a very calm and good atmosphere. There were 5 four-person tables and 6 counter seats. The alcohol menu even listed sake from Sasaki Shuzo, the family home of actor Kuranosuke Sasaki. Set meals including the lunch menu come with free refills for rice, miso soup, and cabbage. They also had rice bowls, toppings, and combination cutlet set meals. What I ordered was the Mugitoro Katsu Zen with loin cutlet. Cabbage, rice, and miso soup have free refills. You grind sesame seeds and pour in the sauce. And hire cutlet. First, taking a bite of the loin cutlet without sauce, the meat fat spread in the mouth and it was very juicy and delicious. The hire cutlet had a moderate amount of fat and was also very delicious. Takeout is apparently available, so check out their website too.

Came for dinner searching Google search for delicious tonkatsu restaurants. Ordered hire cutlet and fried oysters. The oysters were large and fluffy. The hire cutlet was also tender and very delicious. It didn't take too much time from ordering for the food to arrive, rice and cabbage had free refills, and pickled Chinese cabbage was on the table so I could eat as much as I wanted. My wife ordered loin and fried shrimp. The shrimp was also large, plump, and delicious.

Dropped by during a business trip, so it might be impossible without a car. The interior is spacious, featuring a counter and tables for a calm space. Ordered the "Katsurai Zen (1,620 yen)," and this was a massive hit. The hire cutlet is super tender, and the batter is fluffy and crispy. It makes the rice go down effortlessly. The fried shrimp also had exquisite heat control, tender with sweet flesh. Eating the minced meat katsu balls with ponzu sauce was a nice flavor change, and I could also eat the bite-sized croquette. Rice, cabbage, and miso soup have free refills. Made for a deeply satisfying lunch. Thank you!

The batter is crispy and the seasoning is solid too! It was delicious ❤️ Tonkatsu is delicious, but the crab cream croquette and regular croquette were also to my liking!
