A 5-minute walk from Nankai Kishiwada Station, 「中華居酒屋 元」 sits in a corner of the shopping street. The interior is casual and clean, with both table and counter seating. It has a homey atmosphere where you can drop by casually whether alone or in a group. The menu offers a wide lineup centered on classic Chinese dishes. Our recommended "shiso gyoza" has a juicy filling accented by the flavor of shiso, with a refreshing, exquisite aftertaste. Please also enjoy the "ebi chili" packed with plump shrimp and the "subuta" with its perfectly balanced sweet-and-sour sauce. With affordable prices and generous dishes, mainly local office workers…

A Chinese restaurant just before the end of the shopping street from Nankai Kishiwada Station; we enjoyed classic dishes like gyoza, karaage, stir-fried liver and garlic chives, spring rolls, gyoza, and more, all delicious! We went as 4 people, and although the spring rolls come in 3s, they flexibly made it 4 for us, which was great! I forgot to take a photo, but the mapo tofu was also super delicious! For gyoza there were shiso gyoza and regular gyoza, both tasty, and the eggplant mince, eggplant topped with a black vinegar sauce mixed with minced meat, was also delicious! I thought it would be even better if they added menu items I love, like shumai and xiaolongbao

A Chinese izakaya that opened on the former site of the Ohsho in the Kishiwada shopping street I used to go to Ohsho a lot, so it's nostalgic~ I ordered the B Lunch ¥1,200 You choose 2 items from subuta, karaage, shrimp tempura, wood ear mushroom and egg, mapo tofu, and happosai, and it comes with salad, soup, a small side dish, pickles, and rice. I chose subuta and mapo tofu! The small side dish was steamed chicken, which I can't eat. The mapo tofu had a mysterious flavor I'd never had before, kind of spicy! The meat in the subuta was disappointing.. The soup tasted like ramen. It was a weekday lunch, but customers kept coming in one after another. It seems popular!

While walking through the Kishiwada Ekimae-dori shopping street, I noticed a banner in front of 「中華居酒屋 元」 that usually isn't there. It said lunch! The shutter was open and an "open" sign was out. I went right in. Inside, the kitchen is in the same spot as the previous shop, and the seating has 4 four-person tables and 5 counter seats. I could see stairs to the 2nd floor at the back. It opened on March 15, 2024, and I'd been curious about it. I'd actually been waiting for them to start lunch service. The lunch menu lets you choose the side dishes you like. There were also other à la carte dishes. When I asked the staff, they said they started lunch service on December 3, 2024. The food I ordered arrived. From the A Lunch, I chose karaage. The karaage was juicy and really delicious. The portion was generous too. This time I ordered from the lunch menu, but I also wanted to eat the tenshinhan I love. They said they're closed every Monday and the 3rd Tuesday, and serve lunch only on weekdays other than those.

I ordered fried rice (650 yen), mapo tofu (800 yen), shiso gyoza (450 yen), and 1 gō of sake (800 yen). There were lots of locals inside, drinking and chatting happily. Smoking is allowed inside, so that might be something they appreciate too. It felt very homey. The owner was young and fresh too. However, as for the taste of the food, I felt it lacked umami and was a bit unsatisfying. The mapo tofu had a good kick of spices and was mildly spicy and fairly tasty, but for me it lacked a bit of the umami punch that makes you want to eat it again. For electronic payment, they accept PayPay.

★中華居酒屋 元 ◉Champon & fried rice The sound of the iron wok being tossed is so pleasant♪ 中華居酒屋 元 in the Kishiwada shopping street Parked my car at a nearby coin parking lot and checked in. I asked which noodles come in a thick soup and ordered the champon. The piping-hot soup with just the right thickness clings perfectly to the thin straight noodles, piping hot and sooo good♪ Loaded with toppings, and the soup is just so tasty~♪ The fried rice is the loose, separate-grain kind with a punchy flavor Strongly seasoned, totally satisfying 💯 Next time, tenshinhan or stamina ramen? Or champon after all, lol Thanks for the meal. #中華居酒屋元 #中華屋巡り #町中華 #岸和田グルメ #チャンポン #炒飯
