I visited with an advance reservation. They explained everything very carefully, and I'm glad I got to learn about sudare (bamboo blinds). Thank you also for telling me how to get to the nearby Kawachi Oku Michi-no-Eki Kuromaro no Sato! I had a really fulfilling day.
View on GoogleFor free, they'll show you precious bamboo blinds. At the end you get beautiful Japanese-made coasters made from bamboo blinds. They seem to be sold for 300 yen for a set of two, so I felt like I got a good deal. Be sure to check out the bamboo blind showroom too. Don't worry, there's no pushy selling There's nowhere to park a car, so I think it's best to visit the temple next door, park at the temple (it costs 500 yen), and then go to the bamboo blind museum. At New Year I paid 500 yen for parking, but during the completion ceremony (rakkei) it was free
