A renowned soba restaurant located within a housing complex, a few minutes from Kōzu Station on the Keihan Katano Line. Visited past noon on a weekday, waited about 10 minutes. First, before the soba, duck ham and soba-yu mixed with shochu (soba-yuwari). The soba-yuwari is thick and sweet, and the accompanying meat miso is also delicious. The duck ham has a tsukune-like feel, and the sansho pepper is a nice accent. For the soba, I had tsuke-tororo soba. Slurping the soba, it is very aromatic, with flawless throat-feel and taste. The grated yam (tororo) was also generous and delicious, but with soba this good, I might want to enjoy just the soba by itself. It has good firmness (koshi), so the hot soba sounds delicious too. It was extremely delicious soba. It's a restaurant in a hard-to-access location, but one I'd love to revisit.
View on GoogleA soba restaurant nestled in a residential area of Katano City. The nearest station is Kōzu Station. For parking, using nearby parking lots is recommended, and customers can get a cashback upon request. However, their policy is that you can park right in front of the shop if the space is open. Much appreciated. Now, this restaurant has also been selected as one of the top 100 soba restaurants, but during weekend lunch hours, if you cannot be seated in the first wave when it opens at 11:30, you will be waiting for about an hour. I ordered the "Duck Broth Soba @ 1600 yen" with a large portion (+400 yen). As for the taste, the duck is exceptionally delicious! The dipping broth also has a strong dashi flavor and is delicious. Also, for the soba-yu (soba boiling water), they specially prepare a fresh batch of soba dipping sauce just for the soba-yu. This soba-yu diluted with that special soba sauce is great! I thought all of these factors are the secret to their popularity.
View on GoogleI visited Teuchi Soba Noda. Inside, the restaurant has a calm atmosphere, making it a soba shop where you can enjoy your meal at a leisurely pace. You could strongly feel the flavor and firmness (koshi) unique to hand-made soba, allowing you to taste the original deliciousness of soba. It went very well with the tsuyu (dipping sauce) and remained delicious until the very end. The portion size was just right, and it didn't feel heavy after eating. What left a particular impression was the service of the elderly female staff member. She was extremely pleasant, polite, and warm in her approach, allowing me to spend my time with peace of mind even on my first visit. She kindly spoke to us even during busy hours, which I felt contributed to the great atmosphere of the restaurant as a whole. It's a highly satisfying restaurant not just for the taste of the soba, but also for the service and cozy comfort of the interior. Recommended for those who want to calmly enjoy delicious hand-made soba. Since I imagine it's a popular place, it's best to visit while avoiding peak times or giving yourself plenty of time.
View on GoogleArriving at 1:28 PM on the weekend, I was able to get in without waiting, but there were 11 customers already inside, making it almost full. I wrote my name on the roster inside and waited seated indoors. Most of the seating inside consisted of tables for two and counter seats, with only one table for four. At 1:36 PM, that exact table opened up, and even though I was alone, I was guided to it. There were several other people waiting inside, but no table sharing. I felt a bit self-conscious, but they said it was just because it was my turn in order. I ordered the tsuke-oroshi soba for 1,200 yen. The complete set arrived at 1:54 PM. The serving speed is somewhat slow. It comes with soba, dipping broth, grated daikon radish, green onions, and bonito flakes. The soba tasted normally good. The grated daikon had a solid spice/kick to it, which was fantastic. Also, the green onions were green onions rather than white onions, but they were crunchy and delicious. Midway through, they brought out soba-yu and a cup specifically for the soba-yu. I poured the soba-yu into the soba dipping sauce, and also poured it directly into the soba-yu cup, drinking it diluted with sauce and straight, and both ways were delicious. I changed the flavor halfway with shichimi and sansho pepper, but the daikon's spiciness was so strong that it didn't change much. Left the restaurant at 2:09 PM. There were 6 customers inside. Furthermore, 2 people were waiting inside. No line outside. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleA calm and sophisticated soba restaurant with a refined Japanese atmosphere located in a residential area. I arrived right before opening for weekend lunch and waited as the first in line, but it seems to be such a hugely popular restaurant that some customers couldn't even get in during the first wave. The duck shigure-ni features softly simmered, sweet duck meat that is extremely tender. The soba noodles are thin, resilient, and I'm glad the single-serving portion is quite generous. The duck broth tsuke-soba contains plenty of 5 or 6 slices of duck meat with a savory aroma, making it thoroughly satisfying. The soba-yu was thick and delicious. It warmed me up very nicely on a cold winter day.
