There was a free parking lot🅿. It was nice to be able to see Katano's history and excavated items. There were also old armor and swords, some of which I'd rarely seen before. The building itself was built long ago and has an unusual structure😌

Apparently this is the building of a former financial institution's head office branch, built in Showa 4. The old building has a distinctive shape. I think some of the exhibits inside are quite valuable. I was especially impressed by the excavated jade magatama. It's small, but I think it's interesting to stop by when you're nearby. The organ right inside the entrance had a nostalgic sound.

A reinforced concrete building constructed as the new head office of Katano Mujin Kinyu Co., Ltd., designated a National Registered Tangible Cultural Property. It's currently used as a historical and folk materials exhibition room. I visited in March, and around this time of year a magnificent palace-style display of hina dolls is exhibited at the entrance.

The caretaker explained each site one by one very carefully, so it was very easy to understand. You can learn a lot about "the history of Katano City

I wished the 7th–8th century exhibits included maps showing things like the coastline at the time. I don't think the layout of the kofun makes sense if you look at it with a present-day perspective. This area is deeply connected to the founding era of Japan as a nation, so I'd be grateful if it continues to be cherished.
