Went there last summer. Still thinking about the delicious Okonomiyaki and nice lady who served us. ☺️ Will definitely go there again next time I visit Japan.
View on GoogleA public cafeteria (taishu shokudo). A store with age. The shop is in an area where residences and shops are mixed. Since it's land one alley off the main street, you'd hardly drop in casually while passing by. A shop sustained only by neighborhood regulars. There are no misses with this kind of shop! A cozy interior. Several preceding customers who might be regulars? Sun-tanned wooden strip menus on the wall. TV available. Pre-made side dishes on shelves. An old-fashioned town cafeteria. Feels like a Yoshimoto Shinkigeki set lol. Run by a friendly proprietress. Wonder if there were 4-5 tables seating 4 with built-in teppan? There are okonomiyaki and yakisoba on the menu. The teppan at the seat where I sat was covered with a board. ***** Food ***** ■ Small beer. Beer drunk while it's still bright out is delicious. ■ Chuka soba. Chicken bone soy sauce flavor, truly 'Chuka soba' taste. Ingredients are pork, kamaboko, bean sprouts, green onions, carrots, squid, etc. Lots of ingredients like champon. Thank you for the meal. Checked out while brain was all fuzzy from drinking more alcohol despite having a hangover. Took two 1,000 yen bills from wallet and handed to proprietress. Change was one 1,000 yen bill and a 50 yen coin... ??? Chuka soba and beer was 950 yen. Extremely cheap!! If I lived nearby I'd probably become a regular. Consumed items: Small beer... ¥450 Chuka soba... ¥500 Total... ¥950 Quoted from blog post, search Google for 'Kyumudo' to read original article. Actual visit date is July 22, 2024.
View on Google【Curry Chuka (550 yen)!】 Arrived at the shop around 12 o'clock. Quite an atmospheric exterior. Well, gathering a bit of courage, enter the shop. The interior is also quite atmospheric. No prior customers. A friendly proprietress welcomes you. Menu items are posted inside the shop, and side dishes are placed in the side dish space, a mass食堂 style where you take whatever you like. Some seats have teppan on the tables, so you seem able to eat okonomiyaki too. Among the many menus, what caught my interest was Curry Chuka. According to the proprietress, it's a popular menu item. Well then, Curry Chuka please. Waiting about 8 minutes while watching the wide show on the shop TV... It came! Curry Chuka! Simple style! Now, starting from the soup... Slightly thickened, mild curry-flavored soup. Not like, super delicious!, but somehow a heartwarming feeling. Now for the noodles... Medium-thick straight. Neither good nor bad, noodles that make you think this is just fine. Ingredients are pork, bean sprouts, carrots, and green onions. Somehow this kind of feeling is unadorned, which is nice. Slurped it up and finished eating. A heartwarming, community-rooted cafeteria. Somehow, I was healed—. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleEnenergetic and bright owner The banter with regulars Feels like listening to manzai, very homey That being said, first-time visitors are fine too ^^ Oyakodon with a gentle taste Tanuki (kizami) yellow buckwheat noodles topped with plenty of chopped fried tofu Chewy and elastic yakisoba Super delicious! Bill 1,480 yen... cheap! A shop I'd want to become a regular at if it were close Thanks for the meal ^^
View on GoogleWondered if first-timers are okay, and was always curious, but this time I finally managed to enter! The interior was just as I imagined. Conversely, the old-fashioned atmosphere felt very fresh. Ordered oyakodon. It had a gentle taste and was very delicious. Another customer who came in later was eating okonomiyaki. Grilled on the teppan attached to the table, they said it was quite delicious. Lots of menu items too, I'd like to eat them in order. Personally I'm very curious about 'Curry Chuka'. A heartwarming cafeteria cooked by a cheerful proprietress. Those who haven't been yet should go try it once!
