Located near JR Kashiwara Station, along the Nagase River. Upon entering the shop, a nice aroma of dashi broth. Inside there are 4 tables and a counter. Run by a single person, a kind-looking older gentleman greets you. Weekday-only Soba Set ¥700 (excluding Sundays and holidays) The soba dashi broth is truly delicious! Sweetish and you can really feel the dashi punch through. A comforting taste. The takikomi gohan is packed with ingredients and full of flavor! Sometimes there's burnt rice at the bottom which makes it even tastier! Curry Udon ¥800: Curry with a strong dashi base, spicy yet you can firmly taste the dashi. Clings to the thin udon noodles. Contains large pieces of meat that were tender. Business hours posted in the shop: 11:00-14:20 16:00-20:25 (Different from Google map hours) Irregular holidays No parking, nearby coin parking available (Yaohiko's parking lot can also be used as coin parking) Cash only.

JR Kashiwara Station Visited near Ogata shopping street during late lunchtime A shop with an old-school atmosphere When visiting, the owner was watching TV set up on the customer seating side Staff seemed to be just the owner himself Food was served quickly, can eat soba + onigiri for under 1000 yen Taste has no particular features, but it had a comforting, everyday kind of deliciousness Thought it unusual that tamagoyaki was included as an ingredient Not served alongside the onigiri, but right inside the soba

The interior is like an old-fashioned, privately-run soba restaurant. Cheap and delicious. The soba set is 700 yen for takikomi gohan and soba, great cost performance.

A shop for udon, soba, and rice bowls. Building doubles as a residence, seems to have no parking space. Places like this, run solely by neighborhood regulars, never have any misses. Inside, there are L-shaped counter seats (about 6) and 4-person table seats (4 tables). One side of the table chairs is a built-in bench along the wall, so if you squeeze, 5 people might sit at a table. The counter seats didn't seem to be in use. A kind-looking master was running the place. ***** Food ***** Ordered the soba set. Service menu from 11:00 to 14:45 excluding Sundays and holidays. Set of soba, takikomi gohan, and pickles. Soba can be changed to udon. Soba with a gentle dashi broth. Fragrant takikomi gohan with just a little burnt crust. Was able to spend a heartwarming time. Thank you for the meal. What I ate: Soba set... ¥650 Quoted from a blog article. Google search "Kyumudo" to read the original article. Actual visit date is July 16, 2024.

I've been coming here for over 20 years. Only when I go to work in Kashiwara, though... Always appreciate it.
