A very compact restaurant seating only 8 with reservations a necessity. It's run by a husband and wife and provides French style haute cuisine. The chef worked in a series of top restaurants and hotels before opening this restaurant. Wine is superb (but French only) with a superb selecting of Burgandies in particular. The food is delicious with sublime dishes and great choice of fresh and unique ingredients. Presentation is excellent and if one chooses the more expensive option one receives real value for money. This restaurant does present a gastronomic feast.
View on GoogleThis is my 3rd time here. I had the 6500 yen lunch with my wife, daughter, and my daughter's boyfriend—total of 4 of us. Since it's by reservation only, as soon as you enter the restaurant, you are guided to your seat and the appetizer is served. Every time we go, the menu is different, so looking forward to the menu sheet is part of the fun. You can't choose the very first appetizer served when you sit down, but you can choose the main dishes and desserts that come later from several types available. Because the restaurant is run by just the husband and wife, accommodating a large number of customers is impossible, but because of that, the atmosphere is calm, the clientele is good, and you can enjoy your meal at a leisurely pace. They serve wine that matches the food well, so the food and wine pairing goes so well that you have a 2nd and 3rd glass... Even if you buy the same wine and drink it at home, it just tastes different. Because you can get solid, delicious French cuisine at a reasonable price, both my wife and I highly recommend this place. If I write too many good things, it might get popular and hard to get reservations, so I'll stop here...
View on GoogleMy colleagues celebrated my retirement here. In a quiet and calm atmosphere, while enjoying authentic dishes, we were able to spend a fun and warm time together. The delicious food was brought out at just the right timing. A dining party at a wonderful restaurant. I'm sure it will remain in my memories forever. Thank you very much, Antoine-san.
View on GoogleMy wife and I had lunch together for our wedding anniversary. The reason we came to this restaurant is because Antoine's food was delicious when we had it for lunch during a tour of Katashimo Winery. We thought, "Would it be even better if we went to the restaurant itself?" The exterior of the restaurant, located a 1-minute walk from Kintetsu Katashimacho Station, is unassuming and at first glance you wouldn't know it's a restaurant. When you open the door and go inside, fresh flowers are arranged in small dishes on neatly arranged tables, giving it the atmosphere of a high-end Western restaurant. We ordered the 6500 yen lunch and French wine. The amuse-bouche and hors d'oeuvre make the most of the flavors of ingredients like abalone, scallops, and tuna, and they are quite delicious. My wife and I prefer light flavors, and we were already fully satisfied at this point. The pairing with the wine was so good that despite saying "We won't drink much today," we had 2 glasses of sparkling wine at this point. What came out before the main dish was homemade grapefruit sherbet. This was also quite delicious. The main dish was Ezo venison steak. For wine, we had French red, making this the 3rd glass. It has restrained astringency, a refreshing light body, and goes down smoothly. Was it just my imagination that the Ezo venison meat might have been frozen meat? It was a little different from what I expected, but it was delicious. By the way, my wife had the beef steak. For dessert, I had baked pudding. It was a firm pudding topped with a less-sweet sauce, making it an adult's pudding, and it was filling and satisfying. The food and wine paired well together, and it was so delicious that we ended up asking for more wine. Both my wife and I had the 6500 yen lunch, but since we drank wine, the bill came to a little over 19,000 yen for two people. It was an expensive lunch, but a convincing one.
View on GoogleVisited with my wife to celebrate her birthday. Ordered the 6000 yen lunch course. It's a wonderful French restaurant where a handsome chef does amazing work. Every dish exceeded expectations and was impressively delicious. Since we came by car, we couldn't order wine and deeply regret it. The seasoning is relatively firm, so I think it's geared towards relatively young people (though I'm over 50). It has a casual atmosphere, so next time I'd like to bring my high school daughter along. Thank you for a wonderful 2 hours.
