Stopped by at Island Cafe on the way to the airport as it is one of the pet friendly cafes along the way. It is nestled on a man-made island surrounded by housing estates. As pets are not allowed indoors, there only two tables outside for pets. The unassuming small cafe serves a medium selection of sandos which was absolutely delicious. I ordered the BLT sandos and it was really good. Thick, juicy and fresh. The ham was done perfectly and not too salty. Wife ordered the tonkatsu special which was clearly one of the best we've tasted so far. Tried a few other tonkatsu sets in Tokyo and Kyoto, but felt that this small neighbourhood cafe was the best. The batter was crumbly and not hard, texture of the pork has the right consistency and it is thicker than those in Tokyo or Kyoto. Highly recommend if you are able to stop by here on your way to the Kansai airport.

Went with my beloved dog after Kanku 🐶🐾 The parking lot was hard to understand, but 3.4 cars can park. Dogs are allowed on the terrace seats only, and it seems like it would be pleasant to spend time in this season or autumn, but since the location is right in front of a post office, you'll be eating while watching the post office lol. There is no dog menu and no water service, so you need to bring your own! I had the yakimeshi and French toast, both of which were delicious ♡ The French toast wasn't as voluminous as I thought, so it seems good when you have a small appetite ♪ The yakimeshi was voluminous!! They also sold bread and other things inside, and there was yakimeshi takeout available (*^^*) The staff were also friendly and pleasant!

Visited for breakfast. I appreciate that dogs are allowed on the terrace seats. And breakfast is cheap! With a drink (iced coffee for 440 yen), it's almost a one-coin dish. I don't want to consume too many calories, so I'm glad there is a simple toast menu (104 yen!) as well. At this rate, I can come eat here frequently. The shokupan (white bread) was also soft and delicious. The view isn't great since it's located in an apartment complex, but it was quiet and comfortable. There are 2 terrace seats and about 4 parking spaces on the side of the shop. If it's full, they said about 2 cars can park in front of the shop. Bread is sold inside the shop; I was planning to buy a loaf of shokupan to take home, but it was sold out. Too bad.

Visited for the first time in a few years! In the past, there were lots of handmade breads, but the sweet breads and prepared bread rolls have become ready-made products (; ; Only the shokupan is still sold ♪ The omurice here is delicious! I didn't have much time, so I took out a bento. It's around 700 yen. A bit pricey? I thought, but once I ate it, it made sense! Every side dish had a heartwarming flavor and is delicious! The tamagoyaki is dashimaki tamago, which is right on target for me since I don't like sweet things! The fried shrimp is crispy, and the saltiness of the salted salmon is just right. It looks like they also serve breakfast, which I'm curious about.

When I went to Nishiki, I ordered the daily lunch special at Island cafe. The daily lunch special was tonkatsu lunch. Thick-cut, large tonkatsu, crunchy salad, potato salad with beans, delicious ♪ Garnish, stuffed zucchini, bitter melon and salted kelp dish, simmered eggplant, and soup, a very wide variety of items where I could enjoy various flavors. At the time of payment, I thought it might be around ¥1200 ~, but it was ¥810 including tax. Not only is it very delicious, but the prices are reasonable, it's a wonderful shop ♪ They also sold bread and accessories (*^^*)$
