Terainaimachi area in Kaizuka City. Located here is "Amato Kissa Sabayashi" with its rows of old-fashioned storefronts. I've been curious about what kind of shop it was for a while, so I dropped in. The inside of the shop is small, with only about two 4-person tables. Old tableware and other items were on display. Lined up on the menu are many traditional sweets. There were also set menus. You can have a little bit of whatever you like. There are so many types of mitsumame alone. It's really troubling. I want to eat that too, I want to eat this too. After much deliberation. I ordered the 2-item set of walnut dango and kinako dango, and an iced lemon squash for my drink. What my friend ordered was walnut dango, zenzai, and kinako milk! Irresistible for kinako lovers. Walnut dango is definitely a must-have. The kinako dango also had plenty of kinako sprinkled on it, and there was some left over even after putting a lot on the dango. If this were at home, I would have scooped it up with a spoon and eaten it, but I managed to restrain myself. Aren't there few shops that serve this many varieties of Japanese snacks? Please do go check it out once.
