My partner's family (Father and Sister in law) arrived for a Dinner meal, being served by the Head-chief/Owner. This was Recommended by my SIL, as a much sort after experience. Whilst I can't fault the quality of Food and service by the Attending staff (as happens regularly in Japan) I was left with a Poor dining experience, as I was given the immediate "Stink-eye" from the Head-chief that didn't change throughout the meal. This Only appeared to happen to Us, as he Happily made small-talk with other customers and even smiled on several occasions. On sitting, I tried to take the first available spot at the counter, allowing my Japanese family the Prime spots in front of the Chief and was told to move as he couldn't reach me despite a setting and seat being in that spot? As the first of the meal was being prepared (by hand and something that I would have loved to have taken pictures off), my Japanese partner asked if I might be able to take a Video of it and was told "No" to any photography. This was a shame as we wanted to show the quality and effort that was being placed by the Chief to another Japanese (Chief that is equally proficient) friend of ours in Australia. This left me rather disappointed and quite at odds with the extremely High standard of Friendliness often seen in Japan, especially to Forieners that are doing their utmost to Immerse and Indulge in the local culture. Great food that was ruined by bad service.

A counter-main sushi restaurant located about a 3-minute walk from Keihan Owada Station. A long-established shop in its 33rd year of founding. Stopped by during weekday lunch time and ordered the 8-piece nigiri set with aka-dashi for 1600 yen. Everything is delicious. The atmosphere inside the shop is also good, close to perfect as a shitamachi sushi restaurant. Is it a family-run business with an elderly couple and their son? It's cozy. Recommended by a nearby business partner, dinner involves sushi and drinks costing around 10,000 yen per person. A high-end restaurant in shitamachi-filled Owada. It's also nice that you can eat it for just over 1,000 yen at lunchtime.

Keihan railway station names were often used for character names in a certain major hit drama, and among them, Owada Station is hardly known to most people in Osaka, but it's a sushi street known to those in the know. About five or six sushi restaurants are crowded around the station. This is a neat sushi restaurant along the shopping street on the south side, and the interior with slightly dark colors gives an adult restaurant vibe, but there is also a price list behind the counter, making it a clear-accounting and reassuring restaurant. At lunchtime, you can enjoy a set for under 1,000 yen. For this price including 10 pieces and aka-dashi, the quality of toppings and the feel of the sushi rice are solid, and you can definitely experience satisfaction beyond the price. It's a good shop that can be called a famous restaurant around Owada, where you'll want to enjoy sushi with a light drink in the evening as well as lunch.

Visited in December... However, the taste was mediocre and disappointing considering the price paid. Especially the unfriendly attitude of the employees including the master chef ruined my mood. Honestly, I won't repeat and if you're going to run a restaurant, I thought you should be friendly
