August 2024, first visit in several years. True to its name, this ramen is classified as Nagahama ramen among tonkotsu ramen. Recommended if you want to eat unpretentious, simple tonkotsu. It compares favorably to when I used to eat around Hakata in the old days. The noodles are not as white as the authentic ones, and may have more hydration. Even so, the master's noodle-draining technique is brilliant, and it matches the soup properly with standard boiling. Whether to order hard-boiled noodles is up to your preference. The flavored egg is a service on a first-come, first-served basis. I didn't order it today, but the gyoza are small and simply delicious. Ramen 700 yen, large ramen 850 yen, kaedama 150 yen, gyoza 250 yen, etc., amidst many shops raising prices opportunistically, I think it's very conscientious.
View on GoogleAlthough it claims to be Nagahama ramen, the shop has a soup with some acidity. This acidity is troublesome; if it's mild, it would be an exquisite taste with the tonkotsu soup and salinity, but if the acidity is strong, you'll hesitate even to put it in your mouth. Simply put, if there was no acidity, it wouldn't differ from the liquid-type tonkotsu soup sold at supermarkets. In other words, it means this shop has already reached that level since its establishment, and I can't help but take my hat off to this. The soup hits and misses too much, hence the impression that evaluations are split down the middle. However, they welcome you with reasonable prices, a calm interior, and polite customer service, so you won't lose out by going if you have business around here.
View on GoogleI went and ate ramen after a long time, but it wasn't delicious, especially the taste of the soup which seemed to have changed from when I ate it 10 years ago. I suppose they use instant soup. I went around 6:30 PM, but we were almost the only two customers. With this taste, I won't go a second time.
View on GoogleI think it's a shop with divided reviews. I love it. The soft noodles and light yet flavorful soup are the best. I think the noodles could be a little harder, but since it's individuality, this is fine.
View on GoogleThe current second-generation manager sometimes closes temporarily due to physical health, making it quite difficult to use, but back in the days of the father, the first-generation manager, until about 20 years ago, it operated practically until midnight. Around 30 years ago, mostly on nights before days off like Fridays or Saturdays (around 10 PM), I used it about 10 times. I remember, "For set meals, if it's a cheap combination set, at the price back then, you'd even get change from a single 1,000-yen bill." Therefore, I think "As an independently run ramen shop, single items and set meals including ramen are relatively cheap ramen shops." However, I personally also think that "The firmness of the noodles or the taste of the soup are somehow arranged to suit the Osaka area or local tastes." (For example, as Hakata ramen, the firmness when boiling noodles is basically made softer, etc.) By the way, when I asked an acquaintance in the know, there is an anecdote that, "The store name Tonkotsu, after the current second-generation son graduated from high school, through the introduction of an acquaintance from Fukuoka City, the whole family trained at the Nagahama head office in Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and was allowed to use it when becoming independent through norenwake..." However, I personally also think that, "Since the current second-generation manager's closing time has moved up to 10 PM due to physical circumstances, it's better to arrive around 9 PM or an hour before." By the way, regular holidays are consecutive holidays on Wednesdays and Thursdays in the second and third weeks, and furthermore, the 22nd of every month is also a regular holiday regardless of the day of the week.
