Just a short walk from JR Ibaraki Station West Exit. A long-standing ramen shop operating for over 30 years, with an impressive retro exterior. It was temporarily closed due to the former owner's poor health, but handed over to a successor and reopened. It remains a popular shop that still draws lines. This time I ordered the mini chashu men (700 yen). The noodles are said to be half the regular amount, but the original amount is large and has a sufficient volume. The chashu is enough to spread all over the bowl, and I felt this price has a very high cost performance. Centered on thigh meat, greasiness is kept modest, making it easier to eat and lighter than it looks. Soup is a transparent soy-sauce base with a simple taste. Noodles are thick and filling. It's a lined-up shop, but turnover is relatively fast. However, there's also a turnover-focused vibe, making it geared more towards quick eating rather than leisurely enjoying a meal. It's a spot that can be recommended for those who want to eat heartily while prioritizing value.

Irresistible for garlic lovers, punchy thick noodles with strong firmness. The chashu piled on top alone makes enough of a snack for beer. Normal is enough, but adding raw garlic as an option packs the ultimate impact, lingering in the back of your mind until you go to sleep that day. Lol By the way, ordering bamboo shoots and kimchi as a la carte items is also quite reasonable. For two people, it was quite voluminous, so I think it's good to order while watching the number of items based on head count and physical condition that day. To the successor, thank you truly for fully reviving such a good shop!!

I had expectations since it seemed like a popular shop, but it was disappointing. Ordered garlic chashu men. ● Food Soup is soy-sauce based, crumbly thick noodles, chashu is nothing special. Is a large quantity their selling point? Is the garlic different from what's placed on the table? It was good that my mouth had a terrible stench until the next morning, meaning the garlic worked properly. ● Service Felt the serving time after entering the shop was slow. Since they also serve alcohol, turnover rate might be low and therefore waiting time before entering the shop might be long. ● Atmosphere Good taste of long-time management. Seems to be many regulars. ● Impressions It seems to be a period of taking over the former owner's shop, as posted inside the shop. Since popular series-affiliated shops are opening in Hankyu Ibaraki City too, it must be reasonably delicious ramen. I don't know if it's because it's a transition period, but personally, I seriously wonder if it's ramen worth waiting in line specially to eat. Is a large quantity with a student discount their selling point? I couldn't figure out the target demographic throughout. Thanks for the meal!

Having business in Ibaraki and looking for a ramen shop near the station, I visited since it was right nearby. It was past 12, so about 6-7 people were lined up in front. They came out to take orders while we were lined up, but since it was my first time and I didn't know the menu well, I had no choice but to say "Ramen Nami (regular)". After waiting about 10 minutes, I was guided into the shop, waited a bit at the counter, and the ramen arrived. First impression: "Noodles, thick!". Feels like thin udon, a first for me among ramen. Visually reminded me of Kyoto's Benkei Udon. Thick noodles aren't my preference, but given the novel thickness and straight noodles, I enjoyed them with a chewy texture. Soup is a clear chintan soy sauce with a strong sourness. I think the compatibility with thick noodles is good. However, the chashu was a bit lonely... It's not chashu men, but having just one small slice of chashu... was a pity. The taste was good, so if I go next time... I thought I'd order their sales pitch, the #1 popular chashu men... The master in the kitchen and the landlady (?) provided good customer service, and I was able to eat pleasantly. Seems they recently raised prices, but even so I think it's a conscientious price.

Heading to "Yurai", which I've been curious about in Ibaraki City. Since it was lunchtime there was a line, but operations were wonderful and we were able to get seats surprisingly smoothly. What I ordered this time: Chashu men. First, what surprises you when it's brought out is the volume of chashu filling up the bowl! Truly a breathtaking sight. The thick noodles clinging to the soup have a chewy texture and are exceptionally filling. The chashu is also tender, and cramming it in your mouth together with the noodles spreads umami throughout. Satisfied with this volume and deliciousness. An extraordinary price at 600 yen student discount for students with a large portion. I understand well why it's loved by students. Stomach and heart fully satisfied. If I get the urge to eat it again, I want to go immediately. Thank you for the meal! My only regret is noticing the garlic hidden inside the water pitcher after I finished eating...
