Rode it with a friend, just the two of us. Whether you get wet or not depends on where you sit. My friend didn't get wet, but I got pretty wet. But in summer it's nice and cool. There aren't many slopes or anything, but it was really fun.

It was empty in winter, probably 'cause it's cold. Fall gets crowded. You might get totally soaked, or you might not get that wet. That's the surprise when you go. It's over in about five minutes

The priciest of Hirapa's attractions. 900 yen as of spring 2025. The amount of water makes that understandable. A huge amount of water flows through a concrete channel. Through it, round rubber boats spin freely, uncontrolled, carried along by the current. Unexpected spins kick up splashes, which fly right into the boat too. Well, you'll get wet. Here and there are rollers that spin the boat, and when you hit one, the boat gets whipped around. The ride ticket is pricey, but the satisfaction is high too.

You'd better bring a raincoat when you ride Depending on timing, you'll get drenched You take your belongings on with you, so if you don't want them wet, there are coin lockers next to the main information desk, so it's better to put your stuff in there before riding In the summer season, a 1-hour wait on holidays and such is normal so I recommend buying a priority ride ticket

Getting splashed is inevitable, but it's full of thrills, and I think it's even more fun riding with a big group. The staff do wipe things down to some extent, but the seats and belts are already wet from the start, so I recommend riding in clothes you won't mind getting a little wet.
