This place is quieter than Okamotochō Park, so maybe it's the best spot for a break? No marker for the site of the notice board 馬《●▲●》助 Neeeigh♪
View on GoogleOf the four villages of Hirakata-juku, the groundwater in Oka Village contained a lot of iron and was unsuitable for drinking, so since ancient times source wells were dug in Mannenji-yama and the Besshi hills, and water was supplied through conduit pipes. Three wells were built — the upper well, middle well, and lower well — and were managed independently by the well association as communal wells, but due to recent development and the like they were demolished, and now only this lower well remains.
View on GoogleLocated on the border between Oka Village and Mitsuya Village of Hirakata-juku on the Kyō Kaidō; in the Edo period, an official notice board (kōsatsu) stood near here. The Tōkaidō Bunken Nobe Ezu also marks the honjin (main inn) near here
View on GoogleIt's not something worth coming just to see, but if you come for the Goroku-ichi market or the like, I hope you'll stop by.
View on GoogleI just happened to stop by, but it's a nice place
