Houses surround the pond. On the north side there's a "small park." Bullfrogs were croaking in the pond. It's a special spot for quiet contemplation.

Nishikata Pond is one of the flood-control irrigation ponds in Hirakata City, with a flood-control rating of Class C, an embankment length requiring flood control of 58m, a crest width of 2.8m, an embankment height of 4.0m, a total storage capacity of 6 thousand m3, and a full water surface area of 3,400㎡. (Fiscal Heisei 24) It is managed by the Hirakata City Nagao Land Improvement District.
