It feels like they've inherited the good points of the old-school Ramen Fuji. Even with a regular ramen, the bean sprouts are piled high and the amount of chashu pork slices is comparable to a chashu ramen (back in the Showa era, Ramen Fuji and Daiichiai were normally like that. I think 35 years ago this branch also had this kind of generous portion, similar to the already closed Yahata branch). Since it originally has plenty of bean sprouts, there is no free vegetable refill, but for around an extra 100 yen you can increase the amount, and the bean sprouts form a mountain (2 to 3 times more, Jiro-style volume), and adding extra green onions covers the surface like a green onion ramen level, which is nice. If the soup flavor gets diluted by the vegetable moisture, you can request a richer soup flavor for free. However, it seems there are no menma (bamboo shoots) at all in this shop. On the bright side, the special ramen for 1,000 yen and ramen for 800 yen have more toppings than other locations while keeping the price lower than affiliated stores, which is good. Compared to the Moriyama branch of Ramen Fuji in Shiga Prefecture, which is so popular that people come from other prefectures, might it feel a bit lacking because there's no clear oil floating on the soup? No, maybe because there's less oil, that's good too? (There is a tonkotsu soup feel to it. Maybe because the chashu is mostly lean meat with almost no fat? Is the head store soup somewhere between the Hirakata branch and Moriyama branch???) Judging from social media, it seemed the manager was in poor health previously. That might be why they only operate during lunchtime with Mondays and Tuesdays off??? Since Ramen Fuji locations are scarce nowadays, I really hope they can keep the business going. By the way, reading other reviews, it seems the former owner of the closed Gotenyama branch is running it now. I certainly remember an auntie managing the shop back in the old days.
View on GoogleI had the special ramen for the first time in a while. It was delicious. The special version has more chashu so it feels like a good value. It was full of bean sprouts, and I regretted not adding the green onion topping for an extra 100 yen. The noodles were mushy and I prefer them firmer.
View on GoogleWhenever I come to a job site around here, it's this place. Soy sauce-based and delicious! The photo is of the special, and plenty of chashu is hidden under the bean sprouts. The bean sprouts are cold, but I wonder if that's a matter of preference?
View on GoogleFirst time visiting because I wanted to taste Fuji's chain-expanded ramen ⭐️😁 It felt just like the reviews others had written. Few menu items, light flavor, softer noodles, and plenty of green onions, bean sprouts, and chashu. The first bite was extremely delicious, but as time passed, the soup became diluted, which felt a bit regrettable (-_-;) Amidst the increasing number of stylish ramen 🍜 shops, old-school soy sauce ramen is a precious existence, so I'm looking forward to half a step more progress from them.
View on GoogleAlthough it's a chain, Ramen Fuji's taste varies quite a bit from store to store, but this shop is on the better side. And it's my favorite. The main branch is just soy sauce-salty with zero oiliness, making it clearly the least delicious Ramen Fuji among them, but many delicious shops are way too oily. This Hirakata branch is the best. It made me realize that the stronger the MSG flavor, the more I like it. It's overwhelmingly delicious. Rather than eating a whole bottle of MSG by itself, putting plenty of it in ramen makes it so delicious, it really hit home. And the bean sprouts are as abundant as the noodles! Moreover, it's delicious bean sprouts! The beeeest!!!
