View on GoogleIt's muggy again today. Wiping away the pouring sweat, I visited "Yubari Shokudo" in Arakawa, Higashi-Osaka for lunch—a Showa-era diner with a lovely sun-bleached awning sign, a 5~6 minute walk from Kawachi-Eiwa Station, located at the end of a row house. Inside it's a neat, spacious space with table seats and counter seats facing the wall, and tea is placed on each table in a kettle. The framed "Ooiri Maneki-neko" given as a gift at the opening is super retro—this is a real treasure^^; I pick out my side dishes and ask the lady for rice (small) and miso soup—460 yen in total, so grateful it's under one coin(・∀・) The side dish plate was loaded: chicken cutlet・spring roll・croquette・eggplant tempura・pumpkin tempura・spaghetti・lettuce・apple—a treasure box with a main, salad, and even dessert all on one plate. The miso soup is the old-fashioned iriko dashi style, and its slightly strong saltiness is welcome this time of year. After the meal, I relaxed for a while sipping tea...thoroughly enjoying the slowly flowing time ( ˘ω˘ )ボ~
