The meat is delicious. That's my honest impression. Lots of cuts are on the menu, and I was surprised there were so many cuts I'd never eaten; I couldn't decide what to eat. There were the standard cuts of course, and even ones that made me go, "Huh? You can eat this cut?" When I go to yakiniku restaurants, it's usually all-you-can-eat, and I used to eat with the mindset of just grilling anything, as long as I got full... but it's wonderful that every single slice of meat can be this satisfying. It goes well with both rice and drinks. The horumon was a shock. I thought horumon was the same wherever you ate it, but horumon that's been carefully prepared is something completely different. My clumsy words can't express how moved I was when I ate it, so if you love horumon, I really want you to try it. Also, the owner and staff were very friendly, which left a really good impression!

A yakiniku restaurant along Yanagi-dori The shop is a bit on the small side, but there seem to be seats on the 2nd floor too, and the staff were going back and forth The menu has the lineup you'd expect from a yakiniku restaurant; it feels like they have all the basics These days most places use gas grills, but this one uses a charcoal grill, so controlling the heat might be a bit tricky... But that also means the meat and such grills up deliciously, which is good The salted tongue platter lets you try various parts of the tongue, so it's fun and delicious The other cuts also seem to use good-quality meat There's no parking lot, so it's better to use the parking lot of the nearby complex with Autobacs, Joshin, and Super Maruhachi (Apparently it will become a camera-based coin parking lot from Monday, November 17, 2025) Besides cash, credit cards can be used for payment

The jo-harami and bara were delicious. The salted tongue platter lets you enjoy different textures. The ikafe refreshes you between the fatty meat. Eating the meat together with the ikafe is also delicious. It was the Obon period, but we had a reservation so we got in right away. The staff were energetic, which was nice. The only tough thing is that the 1st-floor toilet is a Japanese-style squat toilet.

A restaurant in Takaida, Higashi-Osaka, where you can have superb salted tongue. The recommendation is the tongue platter. The jo-shio-tan in particular is superb. Eating it with the ume sauce is outstanding. Besides that, the kalbi kuppa is a top pick. Very generous, with big chunks of meat and vegetables. A bowl I really want you to try.

Today's lunch was at this yakiniku restaurant a little way from Takaida Station. I'd wanted to visit for a while, but I'd been let down twice, so today was third time's the charm. It was open lol It was right at 12:00 noon, but I got in smoothly. First, on this hot afternoon, they bring out an ice-cold frozen oshibori lol I ordered the charcoal-grilled yakiniku lunch (large) for 1210 yen. The chunk-cut meat is mostly horumon, coated in sauce. The meat is mainly the chewy kind, and my wife likes tender meat, so we ordered jo-rosu separately. We had this one grilled with salt. Daikon kimchi and tofu, wakame soup, rice, and salad. Well, that's the standard yakiniku lunch! Personally, I think you can glimpse a yakiniku restaurant's potential from the quality of the meat and how it's prepared in its lunch. At careful restaurants that skillfully prep and season even the meat offcuts for lunch, the meat they serve during dinner service is clearly the kind that makes you groan in delight. In that sense, the lunch offering is something you must never cut corners on, and I feel it's better to keep in mind that customers will look at it that way. So, today's restaurant, 『西光園』, was just average, I guess. Neither good nor bad. Thanks for the meal. Where should I go for yakiniku lunch next?
