The Nauru Pavilion from Commons-B at EXPO2025 Osaka, Kansai has been moved here almost exactly as it was. The exhibit feels just like that pavilion came back. You can get a stamp too. On the way here from Shin-Ishikiri Station, in the shopping street along a narrow road, there were several shops displaying Nauru-kun plushies. Some shops were even doing what looked like Nauru collaborations. Unlike during the Expo, they also sell Nauru goods (Nauru-kun goods?) here. They have plushies, straps, hats, T-shirts, eco bags, button badges, magnets, stickers, all sorts of things. The plushies are handmade one by one, so compared to the plushies of various mascots sold at the Expo they might seem pricey, but since they're handmade, it can't be helped. By the way, it's an open-style exhibition space with no doors, so it's insanely hot. If you're expecting the "AC set to 0 degrees" coolness of the Commons-B days, you'll be in for hell. There's also Ishikiri Shrine, quite a lot of people walking around, and it felt fairly far from the station. But you can feel a really strong Expo legacy, or rather Nauru Pavilion legacy, so if you were interested in the Nauru Pavilion, definitely go check it out. The staff were courteous too.
View on GoogleThe Republic of Nauru🇳🇷, on a small island inside the Commons at the Osaka, Kansai Expo Its pedestal with nothing on display became the talk of the town, and it made headlines when lots of Nauru-kun characters were donated I'm one of the people who donated I met the plushie I donated for the first time since the Expo As of this month, it's also become state-run Warm staff welcome you You can see lots of Nauru-kun You can buy cute Nauru-kun goods You can also see lots of Nauru-kun at the shops along the approach to the shrine As a Japanese person, I'm proud that we can coexist with the people around us
View on GoogleTrue to the Republic of Nauru, a cozy little pavilion Not flashy, but it has exhibits and items that feel familiar It makes you want to visit the actual country😊
View on GoogleYou can see the exhibits from the Republic of Nauru Pavilion that was in Commons-B at the 2025 Osaka, Kansai Expo for free! They have the actual "legendary pedestal" that became famous for having nothing on display, and Nauru goods are on sale too. It's not open every day, so check the official information before you go.
View on GoogleThe Osaka, Kansai Expo legacy of the Republic of Nauru, which was in Commons-B, has been carried on just as it was back then — it's like a family home you can come back to anytime. There's tons of the fan art that was in the Nauru Pavilion. And since they now have merchandise sales, which the Expo didn't, you can buy Republic of Nauru goods too. Handmade plushies, Nauru tea, coffee, nure senbei, and more — great as souvenirs! It's on a slope, so wear comfortable walking shoes!
