Before visiting Ishikiri Tsurugiya Shrine, we had a bready breakfast. The shop is in front of Kawachi-Hanazono Station. That day I came by motorbike; it's a one-way street, so there's no turning back (lol) The shop is spacious, and some regulars were there. I had cheese toast and iced coffee, and my girlfriend had the toast and iced coffee + toast combo. There are a lot of morning sets, so it was hard to choose (lol)

The morning menu was really delicious. Fantastic value for money. I felt a bit sorry for the new staff member who got scolded by the mama-san for forgetting to ask whether the café au lait should be hot or iced..

I had the Mont Blanc parfait. It was 900 yen, and "surprisingly" it was quite well balanced as a parfait. It's probably not at the "insanely delicious" level... but parfaits miss pretty often, and thinking about it relatively, maybe this parfait is actually one of the best in recent years? After much deliberation, I gave it a "worth more than the price" verdict. The chestnuts and such seem to be scattered in small pieces, but because of that, you could also say it's nice since it's easy to eat. Especially the way the coffee jelly and ice cream sunk at the bottom mixed together was exquisite. A hidden gem, I'd say

Looking at the review photos, there were ashtrays on the tables, so I thought smoking was allowed, but it's non-smoking. Shock. Ordered a hot coffee. It would've been fine if the hot coffee was good, but the coffee was also pretty weak. No acidity or body — a disappointing coffee.

I came here for the morning set! In the calm atmosphere of the shop, I was able to spend a relaxing time with my friend. The staff were really friendly, and their warm service left an impression. If you're heading to the Higashiosaka/Hanazono area, be sure to drop by. I'll be back!
