The photo shows croquette udon. Delicious! The croquette is properly seasoned, so this is good in its own way. In the early afternoon it's quite empty, and regulars were chatting while watching the TV news, creating a nice atmosphere. I hope a shop like this can keep going for a long time. I was surprised to find it's a chain with locations all over Osaka.

Chikaramochi Shokudo, which has been in Konoike since the old days. Had lunch here for the first time in a while. Located in a convenient spot, it's a restaurant you can easily drop into on a whim. The ohagi sold at the storefront are also well-received.

Had the signature Chikaramochi Soba! The mochi was nicely grilled with charred spots and matched the soba deliciously. It has as many as 3 pieces of mochi, which is much appreciated, though it kept me full until night.

A restaurant that makes you feel the breath of the Showa era. Reminds me of the udon shop I went to with my mom a long time ago. Somehow comforting. Ordered the curry udon. It's a thinner soup style, but piping hot with a solid dashi broth flavor. The noodles are Osaka-style soft noodles, which I love! I'd love to visit again.

A set-meal restaurant exuding a Showa-era vibe. The fried shrimp set meal was overwhelmingly delicious. The amount of rice is also quite large. The takeout takikomi-gohan and ohagi were also extremely delicious. I'd like to go back next time to eat some udon.
