An architectural gem of a museum about the Kofun (Iron Age burial mounds) culture. Perfect after visiting a few of the surrounding megalithic structures. We had a lovely English conversation with the museum curator.

A place I'd been curious about. I went when I visited nearby Fujiidera. There are museum-style exhibits and detailed explanations about kofun…. There was also stuff about baseball and trains. They sold souvenirs too. You can't go inside the building.

It's near the Misanzai Kofun, through the shopping street from Fujiidera Station. A cafe where you can eat curry and more The shop has Kintetsu train and Kintetsu Buffaloes merchandise connected to Fujiidera. There's also parking. You can also get there by Fujiidera City's loop shared taxi.

Got a manhole card‼️ This facility is great! Personally, I thought the shop sold some pretty interesting stuff😊 Parking for about 10 cars, maybe? It's free. No dog walking on the premises ✕! Updated 26.5.7 Got a manhole card (New)‼️

Aisel Shura Hall is a public facility that combines a Tourism and History & Culture Exchange Center (1st and 2nd floors) with a Lifelong Learning Center and Community Hall (3rd and 4th floors). Its most distinctive feature is its huge, striking exterior, modeled on the "boat-shaped haniwa" excavated in Fujiidera City and the "shura," a sledge used to transport giant stones in the Kofun period, evoking "a ship that carries on history and sets sail for the future." The "Shura" in the building's name comes from this shura. In the history exhibition zone on the 2nd floor, along with explanations of the World Cultural Heritage "Furuichi Kofun Group," you can see up close valuable historical materials of Fujiidera from the Paleolithic to ancient times, such as a replica of the waterfowl-shaped haniwa (Important Cultural Property) unearthed at the Tsudo Shiroyama Kofun and a replica of the epitaph of Ii Shinsei, a student sent to Tang China. The welcome lounge and cafe on the 1st floor are designed to evoke the soil layers of an archaeological site, making it a key hub where "liveliness" and "learning" meet, not only for residents but also for tourists who want to learn about the history of the Furuichi Kofun Group.
