There's a Kitashinmachi Site sign inside the prefectural housing complex southwest of the west exit of JR Shijonawate Station, and there's a Jizo statue on the grounds.

It's a prefectural housing area. I think it was public housing 20+ years ago too, and I remember an archaeological survey being done when it was rebuilt as the current prefectural housing. In Osaka, if you dig, something always turns up. The sign has faded and is pretty hard to read. The public facility next door still has the old Osaka Prefecture department name. These days it'd probably be the Urban Development Department.

It sits by itself beside a walkway inside an Osaka prefectural housing complex. But there's just a modest information board, and sadly nothing that feels like a historic site. I'm sure it's hard with so many remains and sites, but I hope they preserve them as much as possible.
