Fried starters, rice dishes, noodles & curries served in an unpretentious Chinese restaurant.

Chuka Shokudo Nanshuken is an authentic Chinese restaurant located in Daito City. Beginning with their signature dan dan noodles, beef tendon ramen, and juicy gyoza, you can fully savor the numbing spice and aroma unique to Sichuan cuisine. Dishes boosted by chili peppers, cilantro, Chinese prickly ash, and huajiao are so delicious they make you stop wanting to stop eating rice. Mapo tofu, mapo rice bowls, and mapo ramen are also popular, alongside a rich variety of noodle dishes such as black sesame dan dan noodles. Loved by locals as a 'cute Chinese restaurant' where you can enjoy the appeal of authentic Chinese food while also enjoying miscellaneous goods. Being able to experience the warmth of a neighborhood Chinese diner and the authentic spiciness of Sichuan cuisine simultaneously is unique to Nanshuken. A must-visit menu for food-porn lovers to expand Osaka gourmet...

A popular Chinese restaurant in Daito City. The signature black sesame dan dan noodles feature an exquisite balance of rich sesame depth and moderate spice, a flavor that makes you want to eat it again once you try it. The mapo tofu and mapo ramen are also authentic Sichuan style, and the aroma and kick of the sansho pepper are addictive. With a wealth of creative menu items like the recently talked-about Tom Yum Tenshinhan, there are new discoveries every time you visit. The staff's customer service is also polite and comfortable, making it understandable why there's a queue at lunchtime. A standout gem definitely recommended for spice lovers and authentic Chinese food fans.

Visited on Sunday past 13:30. Seated smoothly upon entry and guided to a counter seat. Ordering is done via the tablet at your seat. I was planning to have ramen, but while looking at the menu, a dish called Tom Yum Tenshinhan caught my eye, and just as the neighboring customer's ordered item was being served I saw its visual, so I added Parmigiano topping to that and asked for a half-portion of karaage. Arrived shortly after. First, trying just the tom yum soup? alone, it didn't feel all that spicy, but it's a delicious tom yum-like soup! Ingredients like pork and shrimp are chunky and substantial to eat. I wonder if this soup would go well with noodles too? As you keep eating, the spices naturally cause you to sweat a bit. I asked for regular rice, but it had quite a volume. The karaage can be enjoyed refreshingly with lemon. Having a parking lot behind the shop is a huge help!

Shonosuke 'Nanshuken' lunch. 3 groups waiting as of 11:15. Full right at 11 opening? Parking lot was also full so went to nearby coin parking. Along with my companion, ordered the target Sichuan Mapo Tofu Set Meal for 1,529 yen. The interior is unexpectedly cute. Seat spacing is also wide and relaxed. Around us, people were ordering the shop's most popular Sichuan Black Sesame Dan Dan Noodles 902 yen + ending rice, or Sichuan Mapo Tofu Ramen, and onigiri chicken karaage set. A quite voluminous mapo tofu with plenty of sansho pepper. You can choose the spice level, but even standard gives a gentle sweat💦—just the right amount and delicious. Richly aromatic and pairs great with rice. Satisfied thoroughly with small gyoza, Chinese soup, and salad. For totals over 3,000 yen, they discounted the designated coin parking fee by ▲200 yen. Coin parking (100 yen per 30 mins) can sometimes be completely full🈵 even though it's tucked away.

202606141320 There was a parking lot at the back of the shop, and we parked with good timing. One group was waiting in front, and we got seated in about 15 minutes. Ordered one each of dan dan noodles, mapo tofu, and tom yum tenshinhan to share among 3 people. The dan dan noodles and mapo tofu have a strong sansho pepper flavor, but as you keep eating you get used to it and your chopsticks won't stop. Super delicious~ The tom yum tenshinhan wasn't as acidic as I imagined, but this was also delicious. It was the best 🙇

I had eaten the Sichuan Black sesame dan dan noodles just once before the restaurant was remodeled, and I remembered it being ridiculously delicious. Revisited because the shop became clean and the menu changed. 2024-05-10 ● Tom Yum Tenshinhan ● Mapo Curry ● Karaage Both were moderately spicy and delicious!! High quality!! I thought mapo curry was the dish that cilantro matches with best so far. Going again!!
