Staffed by a lovely old lady and her husband. Perfect for after hiking mt. Kongo. Had the ice zenzai, ice cream and red bean soup.
View on GoogleSep 2nd, 2023 Lunch Visited a shop I was curious about without reservation. Originally said to be a mountain lodge, not fashionable at all, but a very simple diner-style restaurant. According to the owner, Chihaya Gozen and Kongo Gozen require advance reservations. The gozen seems to be for people who climbed Mt. Kongo since morning and come down after noon, and it was sold out on the day. The seat I was guided to was right by the entrance and I could only see the wall. Two other groups of customers without reservation later were guided to seats with a view, and in the end, we couldn't feel the atmosphere at all. Came as a couple but no view. Truly unfortunate. Lunch is modest in portion. Maybe not enough for men? The coffee is a demitasse cup. Well, regardless of everything, I'm grateful that the lunch is ¥800 including tax. Next time I plan to come after booking Chihaya Gozen in advance. Came by bike today, Kanshinji 33 degrees, Kobuka 28 degrees, here it was about 22-3 degrees and comfortable even without air conditioning.

I ended up ordering it after seeing others eating it. Made with 100% peaches and the price was quite a bargain at 400 yen. Cake set is also 500 yen with coffee included, which is very good for a break after climbing.
View on GoogleEnjoying a delicious lunch at "Chihaya no Kaze", Mt. Kongo!! Today, came to Mt. Kongo for castle touring in Nara and Osaka. After getting the stamp of Chihaya Castle, one of the 100 famous castles, on Mt. Kongo, I came to "Chihaya no Kaze" to eat lunch. When I ordered Chihaya Gozen from the menu, I was told it was sold out today, so I ordered today's lunch (demi-glace hamburger steak). Besides the hamburger steak, there were various dishes like onion consommé soup, stewed dishes, sardines, and we enjoyed it deliciously!!
View on GoogleEntered the shop after climbing Mt. Kongo. I made a reservation in advance. I ordered the Chihaya Gozen (1200 yen), but it was a course meal that made me wonder if they were making a profit. From soup, a splendid hotpot, several small bowls, sashimi, and finally stew like a Japanese-Western eclectic All-Star game, my tired body was completely healed. Very voluminous. While talking with the grandpa who is probably the owner, I felt his attachment to Mt. Kongo. Thank you for the meal. It was a good taste.
