This museum is something worth visiting. Try riding the ropeway up the mountain and then walking a few meters to reach it. It's nice to visit it during winter or autumn.

After climbing the 1000m Mt. Kongo, there's a mountain hut museum. It was winter with a snowstorm, but the wood stove was going so it was warm, and for free you can learn about all kinds of Mt. Kongo's nature through dioramas and exhibits, plus there are explanations about space and the planets of the solar system, so it's a place to learn about a wide range of things. Warm food is sold too. There's a restroom, and there's a donation box for toilet sanitation, so as thanks for using it, I left a one-coin tip. I hear toilets cost money in places like France too, and I imagine waste processing is tough, so I paid a tip. If you use it, please chip in for the sake of others too.

I stopped by on the descent route of my Mt. Kongo hike. The restroom interior made from single slabs of wood kept in their natural shape was impressive. The facility itself seems to have some age on it, but it's carefully cleaned and very clean. Not just the restrooms, wood is used everywhere indoors, which gives it a warm feel. Events like stargazing are held regularly, so it's a perfect place for people interested in nature observation or those with small children.
