This is a very classical local soba noodle restaurant. With dishes served cold. I enjoyed it a lot.
View on GoogleOn the way to the Izushi Castle ruins, my departure was a bit late and it was already past 1:30 PM. It seemed like it would take about an hour to get to the castle ruins... Just when I was thinking, "I'm really hungry," an old signboard caught my eye. Hesitant just by looking at the exterior, I inadvertently checked the evaluations and recent reviews here before entering. Although the interior was also old, it was clean in every corner. The staff was also a pleasant young woman. There was only one other group of customers, but after waiting for a reasonable amount of time, there was writing showing their commitment: "freshly ground, freshly made, freshly boiled." And soon after, there was a cheerful sound of water draining "sya, sya, sya," and immediately after that, soba was brought on a tray with many plates. First, I tasted it without anything, and although I didn't feel the aroma was that strong, the uneven and smooth texture made me want to keep eating. The dipping sauce had a strong bonito broth punch and little sweetness, an orthodox taste that enhances the soba. "Wasabi, green onions, tororo, raw egg (chicken, not quail)" were included to enjoy the change in taste, but for those trying 5 plates, I felt "tororo/raw egg" were unnecessary. In terms of balance, I felt I didn't reach that point with the change in taste, and I felt it was just right for those ordering "order guide: men 15 plates, women 10 plates" or more as written on the menu. Overall, I was fully satisfied and enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal!
View on GoogleSecond visit. Visited around 12:00 on a weekday. Because it was a weekday, I visited without a reservation but was able to enter without waiting. What I ordered ・Izushi plate soba 1 serving 950 yen Additional 5 plates 750 yen One serving is 5 plates, and the condiments include green onions, wasabi, raw egg, and tororo. Tororo is provided in plenty, which I'm happy about. The aroma of the soba was felt more strongly than last time, it has luster and firmness, and is delicious. The dipping sauce has a good broth flavor and is delicious. It seems I could eat any amount of soba. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleMarch 2025 visit Visited while traveling. Stopped by because I was attracted by the conspicuous signboard. There is an adjacent parking lot Entered the shop with high expectations for both the exterior and interior A style where 5 plates of soba served on small plates come as one serving. Eggs are also included, so it's fun to be able to change the taste. It was so delicious that I asked for refills many times! It was a good soba shop.
View on GoogleSoba Raku stands as if leaning against the countryside of Yosano. The exterior is simple, but once you pass through the noren, the "aroma of flour" begins to have gravity. Today I enjoyed the specialty "Izushi Sara Soba". Soba served little by little on small plates is the beauty of Izushi's form itself. Air enters each bundle, and only the residual heat from being freshly boiled remains quietly. The corners of the handmade noodles stand slightly, and when chewed, the particles of buckwheat flour gently unravel. Behind the transparent aroma, there was a nuance as if the local soil quality echoed faintly. Condiments are egg, green onions, wasabi. Following the ritual "staircase of taste" of Izushi, first the soba itself. Next, refine the outline with green onions and wasabi, and finally drop the egg and mix it into the sauce—— At that moment, Sara Soba suddenly begins to have thickness as a "dish". It's the same soba, but it shows five different expressions on five plates. Soba Raku's Sara Soba is not flashy, but the time of that place and the honesty of human hands accumulate, and I felt the consciousness of the person eating became calm and sharp. The scenery of Yosano and the culture of Izushi were compressed into five plates. Thank you for the meal.
