Located within the grounds of Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine at 30 Takabo, Yawata, Yawata City, Kyoto 614-8005, Sekisuitei is a long-standing dining lounge catering to shrine pilgrims and visitors. A short walk from Cable Hachimangu-Sanjō Station on the Otokoyama funicular, this casual eatery serves as a perfect rest stop after climbing Mount Otokoyama. The spacious dining area features large windows framing lush woodland and distant valley views over the Yodo River. Blending modest retro styling with Japanese shrine atmosphere, it offers a tranquil space to unwind amid pilgrimage routes. The venue carries distinctive local character, closely tied to the culture of Iwashimizu Hachimangu. Nestled amid the shrine’s scenic precinct with shifting seasonal foliage, it delivers a peaceful contrast to busy sightseeing trails. Strategically positioned between the cable car station and the shrine’s main halls, Sekisuitei seamlessly combines refreshment with immersive sacred landscape appreciation. It is a wonderful pit stop that enriches any journey exploring the historic shrine and natural scenery of Mount Otokoyama.

View on GoogleI climbed to Iwashimizu Shrine by cable car and prayed, and it was past noon so I was hungry and stopped by. I had the warding-off-bad-luck udon, and the customers had left, so the owner peeled an apple for me. Just a little bit to put in the curry I thought I could still eat, so I ordered curry rice to share with my sister, and it was a great decision to add it!! There were plenty of seasonal bamboo shoots, and the presentation was beautiful because he was originally a French chef! I was impressed by his figure enjoying his work at this place after retirement, and I was able to think I should work hard too. Thank you very much😭 Thank you for the meal😋
View on GoogleYakuyoke Udon 2.0 This time I ate Yakuyoke Udon. Go up to the 2nd floor to order and sit in the seat. After waiting a while, the staff brought it. Yakuyoke Udon contained abura-age and kombu. As for the taste, well, it's like that. I don't think there will be a second time. ----------------------------------------------- Mitarashi Dango 4.0 I am at Iwashimizu Hachimangu. I'm a little hungry so let's eat something. So I stopped by Sekisuitei.... It seems they are selling Mitarashi Dango. This is it. I bought it immediately. When I ate it, it felt good. I was able to enjoy it deliciously. It's a taste that makes you want to eat it again. Quite a lot of people were buying and eating it. I'll eat it again.
