手打草部うどん のらやNoraya
Opened in November 2005 as the first Kyoto branch inside the Izumiya Super Center along National Route 1. The exterior is decorated with lively lanterns, and the interior creates a sense of warmth with wood. Take a break with some warabimochi after shopping. Tatami seating is also available, making it perfect for dining with three generations of family.

Came here to accompany a friend from Yawata. I thought the green one was tea soba, but it was matcha soba. Since it's Noraya, cat lovers might find it irresistible. If I had to choose between dogs and cats, I'm a dog person, but since I came to eat, it's fine. The udon, service, value for money, and taste are all OK. The interior is a bit dark and cramped. The staff were pleasant. They worked as if they didn't feel cramped. Yawata, Otokoyama... there are rows of residential areas and the station is nearby; it's a clean town and seems easy to live in. It feels more like Osaka than Kyoto.
View on GoogleI came here for the first time, brought by my cat-loving wife. As others have written, I looked at the teapot and teacups and thought, "How cute." My wife ordered the large shrimp tempura udon set, and I ordered the large shrimp tempura bowl and udon set, and we both enjoyed a Nora Parfait for dessert. Just like in the menu photo, there were two huge shrimp, and it was very satisfying. The udon was also firm and very delicious. The interior is Japanese-style with music box music playing, so you can eat in a calm atmosphere. I will definitely come back.
View on GoogleSince I had work nearby, I stopped by for the first time. The staff's service was energetic and polite. After sitting down and being served tea, I looked at the vessel and thought to myself, "So cute..." as a middle-aged man (laughs). Curry udon with a tororo rice set. The accompanying chicken and other tempura were also perfectly delicious. Since the curry is the non-spicy type, it was a pleasant surprise to have chili powder to change the flavor. Thank you for the meal. I'd like to go again.
View on GoogleAt "Noraya Yawata," I ordered the "Two-Flavor Comparison Set" where you can enjoy both udon and black wheat udon! The white and glossy udon is chewy and has the excellent firmness typical of Noraya. The black wheat udon next to it is as thin as elegant soba, but the fragrant rye flavor and firm texture are addictive. The freshly fried tempura has a crispy batter, and the plump shrimp and vegetables are very juicy. The "Curry Udon" I ordered as an extra was also well-received! A spicy, good aroma drifts from the moment it is served. And the "Special Warabimochi" for the finish is exquisite! I was very satisfied with the generous kinako powder and the softness that melts in the mouth. All the dishes are also in a cute cat design, which is soothing. The shop is also relaxing.
View on GoogleI went for the first time. The interior had a calm atmosphere, music box music was playing, and it wasn't noisy, so I could relax. There are also counter seats, so I think it's easy to use even alone. I visited for lunch, the cat dishes were cute, and I ordered the Wagyu beef katsudon sauce recommended by the staff. The udon was firm, and the Wagyu beef cutlet was crispy and delicious. I was grateful that cold tea was served as water. The staff were also kind. I would like to go again if I have the chance.
