Went for lunch on a Thursday. This is a mapo tofu place and it's delicious. I asked for a little spicy and my mouth was on fire but in a very good way. Highly recommend.
View on Google2026.03.08 First visit ・Mapo Tofu 1000 yen Rice served separately Spice level: Level 1 Sichuan pepper: Yes It's delicious with just the right amount of spice! There is Sichuan pepper on the table so you can adjust it yourself, which is nice. Next time I'll try the kake-men.
View on GoogleWhile moving around Yawata, my masochistic instincts kicked in and I was sucked into 'Karaimonya Yawata-ten'♪ You probably won't understand, but I visited with the mood of wanting to be drenched in sweat (о´∀`о) The ordering method is the same as the main store in Chushojima, I asked for 'Kake-men + 2 spicy + Sichuan pepper + Onsen egg'♡ While checking out the spicy miso and Sichuan pepper on the table that you can adjust yourself, the bowl arrived shortly after(*´-`) Within the sharp spiciness, there is a rich and strong umami; my body was craving this Mapo Tofu♫ When you eat this exquisite Mapo Tofu with the medium-thick noodles that have an irresistible chewy texture, you can enjoy a sense of guilt that makes you want to roll your eyes back(*´∀`*) I healed my numb lips with the somewhat comforting clear soup, and finished the bowl while getting more addicted with every bite♡ There is parking for 2 cars on the right side of the shop(´∀`) If it's not sold out on the way home, I'll buy some uiro at 'Jiban-so'♫
View on GoogleA super spicy ramen shop in Yawata City, 'Karaimonya Yawata'. It features a dipping sauce like Mapo Tofu, and while it is quite spicy, there is umami behind the spice that makes it addictive. It's appealing because you can enjoy it with both noodles and rice. A shop recommended for those who love spicy food.
View on GoogleSmall shop, 2 tables for 4 people and a few counter seats. The inside of the shop is cool, the smell while cooking is nice, and the sound of cooking in a frying pan is pleasant~ The basic Mapo Tofu comes with rice (donburi style or separate plate), noodles (bukkake or tsukemen, cold or hot). I chose tsukemen (hot), spice level is 1-5, and they ask if you want sansho. I feel like many people choose level 1. It depends on the person, but for me, level 3 felt like 'spicy!' and was the best. It wasn't a painful spiciness but a slow-building one, and the amount of Mapo Tofu is large. It felt like a specialty Mapo Tofu shop. If you order tsukemen and add rice, it might be better to order while checking how you feel. Large fried chicken, order by the piece, and the fried chicken is freshly fried and hot. I felt like I wanted to try level 5 next time.
