I love everything about this place. The oshi-zushi is what drew me in years ago but I’ve been going ever since for pretty much everything on the menu: oyako don, ninshin soba, oden, otsukuri, shime-saba and more. Friendly people and an old neighborhood izakaya vibe. Perfect for a meal and a beer after a hike up Hiranoyama to Iwashimizu Hachimangu shrine.
View on GoogleThere is no english menu. Kinda expensive but very worth it. One of the best meal we ate during our kyoto trip. We ordered sashimi, fried oyster, and tempura. And it were all delicious. A must try restaurant esp. if you are visiting iwashumizu hachimangu. It is located in front of the station. Will feature this on my vlog at my youtube (@soraltrading) and on my other social medias.
View on GoogleExcellent Saba sushi!!! Great oden and everything is cheaper than I expected. And it is just in front of the train station.
View on GoogleStopped by on our way back from Iwashimizu Hachimangu. Delicious food at very reasonable prices.
View on GoogleA famous shop that I want to visit when visiting Iwashimizu Hachimangu. The quality of saba sushi is one of the best in Kyoto, and I am impressed by the thickness and taste of saba. Thin udon is also easy to swallow and can be eaten lightly. The staff's response is also polite, and I was able to enjoy a meal leisurely in a historic space. A famous shop that the word "the class is different" fits perfectly.
