An individual shop for set meals, chanko hot pot, and banquets rooted in the community near Rokujizo Station in the northern part of Uji City. Chanko hot pot with plenty of volume, taught directly by the Dewa-no-Umi stable. You can hold a private banquet in a large hall that can accommodate up to 30 tatami mats (currently we are reducing capacity due to COVID-19 countermeasures; from 70 people to 48 people), which is one of the largest in the region, with a course that includes the hot pot as the main dish, small bowls, bonito tataki, and all-you-can-drink for two hours. It can also be divided into three 10-tatami rooms, so you can request a private banquet even for small groups. As a town eatery where you can have a solid lunch and dinner, we also prepare a variety of reasonable set meals, from the elderly in the town to...

a hotpot restaurant with tatami seating and that’s near the train station, it’s a good place to eat especially on a cold day:D Came here on 22 May for dinner and got the hotpot combo for 2 with a side of fried squid and croquettes. They had an english menu! Honestly with just this the 3 of us (who have big appetites) were very full. The combo had so much vegetables with a generous serving of meat and the broth was full of flavour and so delicious🤤🤤 The combo also came with the choice of ramen or udon at the end which me and my family devoured🤤🤤 Furthermore the guy who served us were so attentive, using his phone to translate everything to english and always made sure we had everything we needed and did it with such happiness😭🫶 He even showed us to the door and greeted us as he left! We eventually had a conversation and found out that this place was popular amongst sumo wrestlers, so definitely a plus! Please support this small business because it’s definitely worth the price for the amount of food and great service you get:D HIGHLIGHTS: -food portion: generous -tourist friendly: 5/5 -service: 5/5 -would come again?: YES

Very tourist friendly. The staff went above and beyond to communicate with us in English (texting their friend and showing us the English translation). Google Translate app worked well here for reading menus and communicating with the staff. Service was outstanding. The food was delicious and fresh! I wish I could give this place 99999 stars!

Great traditional food experience. They have an English food menu, the owner was super-friendly, the set meals we had were very tasty and rich in variety (price was friendly too). We were lucky to arrive pretty early so we had the perfect Japanese-style table for crossed-leg sitting (and perfect for chanko hot pot but we were too hungry to think about what we want in the hot pot so we went for the set menu). Fish was yum!

An amazing hidden gem off the Nara line on our way back from Uji. The lightest, crispest tempura at an amazing price. Thankyou!!
