The gyudon was excellent, very tender and full of flavor. The soba with matcha noodles was interesting. You could taste the matcha, though it wasn’t very strong, but the broth was really good and light. The tuna bowl set had very good tuna, though I wish there was a bit more since the rice to tuna ratio leaned a little too much toward the rice. The service was great. Even during the lunch rush when it was packed, the staff stayed coordinated, fast, and efficient. The atmosphere was crowded, which isn’t ideal, but that is to be expected in a popular tourist area.

This restaurant is located near Byodo-in Temple. We wanted to have some soba and spotted this place — they serve green tea soba noodles with sushi! The price is very reasonable, and it’s a nice spot to relax after visiting the temple.

Good location. It’s the first restaurant in front of Byodo In Temple. Lunch time on weekend was very crowded. I ordered the set menu have soba in soup and chicken omelette topped with rice. Nice noodles, so soft and very nice omelette rice. I love it. The cold soba also very nice. Plus here was the very reasonable price in such a tourist place too. Accept children in restaurant.

Good soba! We had the sets with warm soba noodle soup - big recommendation! The restaurant is a simple one but perfect for a quick & simple lunch!

It’s subjective however for me, 10/10 all around. I couldn’t have asked for a better soba noodle experience, after not being able to go to some of the other ones. This restaurant delivered, the flavours of the food was phenomenal and balanced very nicely. Price point is very affordable (for an australian) Portion is very generous considering the price. For two people we paid roughly $30 aud which is pretty good and they give a complimentary green tea which is very nice too. Thank you
