Stumbled across this shop when trying to find a place for late lunch around 2pm, most restaurants around the area were closed at 2pm, so I'm glad this shop opens until 3pm. There were 2 groups of people in front of us and we had to queue around 10 mins. Service was friendly and efficient. Food wise we ordered the a hot and cold version of the 3-type noodles tasting set. It was very average with nothing to comment about. Tho it's great to compare the taste and texture between the normal soba and matcha soba noodles.

I decided to stop here for lunch before heading to Byodo-in. I ordered a lunch set; the portion & taste are perfect for me. There’s 1 thing I’m not so sure is whether they accept cashless payment or cash only. I saw all their customers paid cash so I followed. Please check w/them before seating.

Had a pleasant meal at Renge Chaya in Uji. We ordered matcha soba, which had a nice texture and subtle matcha flavor. The dish was well prepared and enjoyable overall. The atmosphere was calm and suitable for a short meal while exploring Uji.

Wonderful experience in traditional Japanese setting. Strategically located and the food taste incredible yet beautiful to look. Matcha soba with mackarel is very unique, I am enjoyed every bite I took. A must stop in Uji
